  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Stop quoting scripture in rivalry

This verse really blessed me today

Phillipians 1.15
"Some indeed preach Christ from envy and rivalry..."

Some people preach becuase they are envious of glory and fame and applause and some preach out of rivalry with others, contending with their brothers and sisters for the truth, their truth.

Let us never ever quote a scripture out of rivalry or contention with our brothers and sisters, and never out of envy for fame or glory. Our preaching should be out of goodwill, love, forgiveness, change, reverance for the truth and to bring the kingdom of God....but never rivalry and never envy.

Lets love, accept and forgive each other. Not contend with each other or seek our own fame for how much we know or how well we can preach

May you all be blessed, I love you, accept you, all of you! Let's preach for the kingdom, not our own selfish purposes :)

"Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves"

v5
"Have this mind amoung yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but made himself nothing, taking the form of a servant... he humbled himself... to the point of death"
