If a Christian has stocks, and is either having trouble finding a job or is unable to work for a time (up to two years in the particular situation I am thinking of), is it considered "okay" for them to live off of money they have made from stocks? Perhaps as long as they are being wise with their money (paying bills, buying food, 10% to the church, and with the ocassional "splurge" [no, I'm not talking a boat or anything, more along the lines of more expensive shampoo, a movie, a new razor for the DH, that sort of thing])?
I am asking because when I was born my grandparents set up some stocks for me and I now have enough in them to live at least a couple of years comfortable without blinking an eye, however our savings are dwindling as my current job situation is bleak, and my husband is a full time student. I do plan on continuing to find a job and only use that money if we have to, but I was curious if it wasn't wrong for Christians to live off of that kind of money if possible?
Thanks for your input!
