I know some stockers, resetters, and some who until last week set up booths at stores for giving free samples/ tastes....
They've been sent home, out of work for probably a week at least, maybe longer.....

Was at the grocery story today. Over half the shelves were empty. Cashier says trucks are arriving every minute of the day bringing stuff and it's all bought up within the first few minutes of opening each morning. Lines are around the block, and police are there to prevent rioting. People, please. This has gotten beyond ridiculous.

I thought "beyond ridiculous" was at least since 1962/ Vietnam 'war'/ Korean 'war'/ 1955 - forbidding the cures previously used/ 1930-2020 increasing use of drugs with increasing cases of autism and sids / use of toxins in food and water supply (and air?) ....

The thing is if people are having to lock themselves up they want supplies that will last them until they get out of quarantine. I can understand where they are coming from. No one wants their family to starve or be unable to finish up going to the restroom.
They are taking a chance of bringing the virus home though.
I am blessed that I stock up monthly.

Now I just need to stop feeding the stray cats my food.:O)

According to the AMA doctors, how many viruses and bacteria, like chicken pox and candida and other things commonly, are ALREADY in our gut - under control, in a stable health person ?
i.e. the 'chances' are that the viruses are ALREADY in most people's homes... etc ...

What will happen if they don't at least slow down is rationing. You heard it first right here. But seriously,the supply line isn't endless and there are people who are ruuning out of supplies at home going into this thing and someone else scoffed a dozen of what they need.

Nope.
I heard about it 'first' related to wwI and wwII (maybe just wwII).

On purpose shortages created, like the oil shortages a few years ago,
for whatever purpose .... and 'rationing' / coupons/ etc .....

Yes, it's critical to stock up at least a few weeks worth of food as soon as possible. Also you want to limit the amount of times you need to travel to the store to buy things.

People should not be acting like selfish pigs at the store. If you see something you want, take things within a limit. Sparse out what you buy, you can still get a decent amount of supplies this way.

I have about a month worth of supplies.

I went to mine today.. was a little better. They even had a nice lady hand wiping all the carts before people would take them. That was nice.

My store has DIY wipe stations near the carts, although it is a good idea for the store to make sure every cart handle gets wiped as many customers don't do it.

It's probably a good idea to wipe all food items down once at home as much as is possible, especially considering the fast turnover.

My store has always had those DIY wipe stations, but today they were out of whatever is supposed to be in there. So I pushed the cart by the part beneath the handle that gets touched. And I stopped inhaling whenever I walked by anyone who looked a little corona-ish.

Yeah. Honestly there store I was in.. I haven't noticed a DIY. I don't really worry.. even with this virus outbreak. Since I'll just wash my hands later.. still.. its nice to see the employees taking extra steps at prevention.

Local SprawlMart was chock full of fresh vegetables. Even garlic, which I thought would be gobbled up.

Bacon, otoh... forget about it.

Pretty soon people will have "enough" toilet paper and bacon(?) and these new stockers will be back on the street.
