• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I had gotten out of a difficult situation recently. I had been feeling so desperate that I was at the point of saying yes to almost anything.

I feel I scared off the one person who might like me and that I won't be given another chance. I feel like I'll be alone forever. I feel like a loser.

Even though I keep trying to stop thinking about all the times I've been rejected, I can't seem to and I feel like I'm too ugly for anyone else to have a chance of finding anyone else, even though it doesn't make sense,

I advised you last time, and this time again, to drop this whole emotional upheaval at His feet and leave it there.

And have you considered preparation time? Spend this time on your character, be at your very best, if you got loose ends then tie them up. Be ready, not desperate, a woman runs a mile when she meets a desperate man, but ready to meet the woman of your dreams.

Some men are not ready to get married, generally women avoid them, the same as men generally avoid women who are not ready to get married.

Be wise let Jesus fix this all up for you, would He not know best?

Heres my thoughts on what I think ugly means. The messure of attraction is not the same for all people, whats ugly for one person is beautiful for another and whats beautiful to many is plain to some.

Yes, Jesus has so much love for you. We all have times when we cannot feel it. These are times when faith is built. We walk by faith not by sight. In those times, for me, it's important to keep the truth always in front of me. So I listen to Christian music ( links you can start listening to right now www.klove.com and Solution FM - Powered by ChristianNetcast.com ) and I watch and listen to teachings that encourage me and remind me of God's love for me. Here are some links for that. Videos | Gateway Church and How Winners Think | Gateway Church .

Prayer and God's word are also important when you are feeling like this, and always. Here's a link that combines the two. It also has an encouraging testimony. Redeemed and Summoned by Name: Bible Verses for Panic, Depression, Anxiety

It's largely about replacing the lies that say you are unloveable with the truth that you are dearly loved by Jesus, Almighty God, the Holy Spirit and many people who you may not even realize care because the lies are masking the truth. One of the lies is that how we look matters, and so many of us fall under the horror of that lie. But I used to sell engagement rings and many--many--women and men came in getting engaged who were what our culture would consider ugly, plain and unloveable, yet there they were, in love, loved, getting engaged, diamonds and all. Why, because the lie didn't win.

The post NickCamp gave you up above, print that out and post it all over your life, in your car, carry it in your pocket, put it by your bed, read it and read it and read it and ask Jesus to help you believe it and feel it. And don't stop until He does.

And finally, please stay in touch with us here. We love you and want to walk with yo through this to the other side, because there is another side of this. Jesus is healing you and one day you will get to tell others who feel the way you do now, how Jesus faithfully brought you through and built you up.

And would you do me a favor? Please do change your user name to something that says to you, to us and to Jesus, that you are willing to believe even when you cannot see the truth. That's really all Jesus needs is a willing heart. You exercise that by doing things like have been suggested on this thread, and He does the rest.
Thanks. And if you do change the username, don't forget to tell us about the change so we can stay in touch with you by your new name.

Blessings and prayers,
a
