well i think that the lyrics do represent God in the bible as our comforter - OK it may be paraphrased but the central esscence is their which is the main thing surely.

the song isnt in contridiction with his revealed word. if it was "I Am Not Here" that would be in contridiction with his revealed word! i appreciate it is a danger to look out for but i cant see how it can be related to this song.

That's fine. I said that the expressing of how a biblical attribute of God (in this case, as comforter) is a proper topic. I never said that they were way off base or heretical. I was just warning all of us to be careful when we presume to speak for God.

In general, I prefer such sentiments being expressed from our point of view rather than speaking for God. A "paraphrase" would be more acceptable, but this song goes a little beyond a simple paraphrase... not horribly so... but far enough for me to raise the topic.

Just a concern, not a condemnation. :)
