staying in tune to the Spirit.

in the body of Christ today, there is a great need for the people of God to do more than just know what the bible says.

the bible says that the letter kills, but it is the spirit that brings life.
i am afriad, that there are lots of Christians, and even lots of christians who know alot of what the bible says, but not many Christians who have ever heard the Lord speak to them for themselves. not many Christians who keep their spirit in tune to what the spirit is saying all day long.

it is imperative, that we do what the Lord told me to this morning, to never make another decison for myself again, but to in all things, seek what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.

we must begin to slow down, and instead of quickly analysing and judging in our minds, going into our spirits and seeking what the Spirit is saying.

the bible says that unless the Lord builds the city, the builders build in vain. and unless the Lord watches the city, the watchmen rise in vain.

they might as well stay in their beds!

we must find in the spirit, the utter destitution and uselessness of our own mental faculties apart from Gods counsel.
it doesnt matter how wise or thoughtful or prudent we are, without the counsel of the holyghost in our spirits, leading us through our day in our every decision, we will crash and burn, and our lives will be a fire to the light the way for those who be still and know that he is God, and be silent in the presence of the Lord and hear what the spirit is saying to us.

yet none of this can ever happen, we will never hear the voice of God, if we do not return to our altars, our prayer closets, learn to yet again lay before the Lord for long amounts of time, so we can be still long enough to hear what the spirit is saying. America as a whole has forsaken the spiritual, and the prayer closet. and that is why things like september 11th happens.
the bible calls us to watch and pray. we must remember what it means to weep and into our pillows and hold on to our altars. not becuase we arent saved, but becuase someone must pray if we are to ever produce anything out of the spirit realm into the physical realm. THE PRAYER CLOSET, IS THE SPIRTUAL WOMB OF THE BODY OF CHRIST.

ephesians 6.18.
Give yourselves wholly to prayer...pray on every occasion in the power of the Spirit. to this end watch and persevere, always interceeding for Gods people...

Does that mean we should also seek the Lord about really small unimportant things too, like what color shirt to wear or what style to wear my hair? (I already know the Lord cares about the little things, but what about the unimportant small things?)

Well said. We do need to seek th gudiance of the Holy Spirit. Praying for periods of time does this for us. I call it soaking.

The biggest priority is to dwell and enjoy your day with the Lord in prayer. By spending the rest of your days with Him, things will take care of itslef, sis.....

well... i dont think anything is to unimportant to ask the Lord about.
and it may wear on our flesh to do this, but it will only propell our lives into a deeper more powerful walk with God.

i have a friend, and think what you will of this but i know him and know his truth and walk with God.
God showed my friend the end of his ministry, what he would ultamitely do in the Kingdom, what his ministry would in the end become. and, with utmost reverance and respect my friend said to the Lord that he thought that through the power of Christ he could do more for the kindgom than that.
he wasnt questioning God, but asking God a question. and the Lord pretty much said "ok, but you are going to have tune into my spirit more than ever before and all the time, about things you think are meaningless".

there are things of extreme importance, like the kind of shirt that we wear. that in the natural we couldnt possibly discern, but the Lord knows that someones eye is supposed to catch the color of that shirt and come talk to you or something, when if you had worn a diffrent color shirt they never would have noticed you and never talked with you and someone could die and hell.

i know that sounds crasy, but that kind of stuff really happens.
seek the Lord about everything, and if you dont get and answer then go ahead but seek the Lord.
just a second or two or checking your spirit.

another example is the same friend of myne, was doing a sidewalk sunday school for some children in an apartment complex, and becuase my friend was keeping his spirit in tune to the Lord the whole time, the Lord was able to tell my friend to get up and move to a diffrent part of the seating. and it seemed foolish, but my friend did it, and then the child who HAD been almost sitting in his lap where he had been sitting, suddenly pulled his pants down.
parents and such where there also, and my friend was able to aviod looking like something he wasnt, and even possibly having a door of ministry completely shut, becuase he had tuned into the spirit.

sorry im going so long, but you cannot rely on your flesh to discern and pick up on what the spirit is doing.
and that is why we must always walk in the spirit.

my friend has heard things from the Lord about my life, that i did not hear myself. and God had to use him to tell me.
i love the Lord, i serve the Lord, want to know the Lord, but God can speak to him more than me, becuase he makes a conseince decision to tune in to the spirit more and more, where as i simply go through my day and expect the Spirit to stop me and say something to me.

and i just want everyone to know, if they dont already. so as to not give an occasion to the flesh.

the only reason God shows me the things he does is becuase i have problems in these areas and im messed up in alot of ways and God is trying to help me and deal with them.
it isnt because im anything great or superspiritual.
its becuase i dont have it all together. and im not living these truths the way i need to be.

Before we do anything we should check if it is by the Spirit. This is the New Testament way to live not by the dead letter of the law but by the living Spirit of life.

In 1 John, it talks about walking in the spirit. How we know we abide in God's spirit and He in us, is if we love eachother (as we have received commandment) I hear people who say, "I really felt God's presence in worship today" then another week they say, "I didn't feel Him today, worship wasn't as good as last week" God is above and beyond any emotion we can ever feel. Sometimes we will feel Him, and sometimes we won't, but just because we don't feel Him doesn't me He isn't there. Actually, if you love others as yourself, it fulfills the law.

and another thing people need to come to, is taking responsibility of their own relationship with God. the singers and musicians might be off today, but its my job to enter into worship myself, and the Lord will always come if i do.
