I want to suggest a forum for Greeks. We are not that many but still we would like to have the opportunity to discuss issues that are culturally relevant to us. Of course we would need for you guys in tech support to bring back the script font but some can post greek also I think by changing their fonts on their comptuters.

I think there is already a German, Italian etc.. forums so I hope Greek would not be a problem. Many times we want to "write" in our language we feel restained as we have to translate for everyone.... There are plenty of natives here that would love to participate

There are also several learners of the greek language in these forums who come and ask language questions in the Orthodox forum. If we have a greek forum, it could take all such questions. I second Philothei's proposal.

Okay I am confused a bit...Do you want a language forum like the greman, spanish, or newly created Classic Hebrew forum?

Also please note I will be away from CF for the next week so if I dont come back in here please understand why.

I will try to get back to it after I get back in town.

Also if time pass and I dont get back in here please feel free to PM me.

Thanks and God Bless,

Arbor

Okay yeah... Maybe we are getting confusing here..indeed... We need a forum for Greek speaking members and also some who do not speak/write Greek but are Greek American and want to talk about culture and language also..Also non-greek members can ask questions about the Greek language Could we post bylingually? Like some threads in Greek and some in English?

I saw that the other Forums in Regional they use both languages...too.
Thank you Arborvita
hope that helps,
Philothei

Sorry for my late arrival. A Greek forum would be great. ακόμα αν δεν έχω αρκετά χρόνο (even if I don't have enough time)

I think a language forum will do. For me personally that is what I was hoping.

Are we going to be allowed to post topics that relate to different issues such as history, religion, news from Greece etc? if the answer is yes then no need for a subforum in TAW, IMHO.

Also a Greek subforum in TAW ....I am afraid it will open up the road for more EOs asking for their own subforum like Russian, Antiochean etc.

I do not knwo how the rest of you guys feel...

let's discuss it...

Yes, I don't think we want a Greek Subforum in TAW because we want to be discussing Orhtodoxy as a whole with the whole community, a subforums would breed resentment and mistrust, but a serperate Greek forum for use of the greek language (for those who can) and learner threads (for those like me that can't!) and a place to talk about culture and news is very important. It can also be a place to discuss specific Orthodoxy customs unique to Greek parishes and Homes and Orthodoxy through a greek perspective, but I don't think we should start spliting TAW into ethnic groups!
