In reading this, and some other articles they have, it smells of "hype news" and "scare media"

Some of the their books they're selling on the website also seem as if they'd fall into the "conspiracy theory" genre...

Hmmmm... sounds like what you're attempting to do is counter the rational arguments of the author with vague attempts to cast doubt on the author's credibility. Why not just address directly what the author has to say?

Seems to me you only bring suspicion upon yourself and your own motives when you make such vague and baseless comments about the author.

The author raises doubts for the same reason I'd have doubts about someone like Jim Marrs or Alex Jones making these sorts of claims.

When they're the only ones making the claim, and I can't find another single reputable media source making that claim, there's nothing really to address other than simply saying that I don't feel what the author's saying is true and it sounds like conspiracy theories to me, personally.
