Starlight, starbright

Dad and I like to go backpacking and hiking when we can. One time we were backpacking with some friends, and one night, Dad and I were just lying on the ground and looking at the stars. Something I thought of was which star God made first, and which one he made last. I asked Dad and he said he didn’t know. When we got back, I wrote this poem. Tell me what you think.

Starlight, Starbright, first star I see tonight..
I wonder as I look at the beauty of you, were you the first in view?
When God made the heavens and the earth,
were you the fist star that He gave birth? Or were you the last?
Why do you shine so bright in the night?
Were you the Star to herald Christ's Birth?
What is your value? What are you worth?

To me, tonight, star shining bright,
you alone are worth far more then the rest,
For it is you that reminds me that in God's arms I rest.
I am blessed, star in the sky, to see you there,
and I will tell you why.
You are the one, oh star in the sky,
that reminds me once again
everything I see belongs to Him.
And I know that I am His, and His alone
He will protect me, and keep me safe.
I need no other than God above,
And I think He sent you, star shinning bright above,
to remind me of His unending Love.​
