  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I love TNG. I like the middle part of DS9. First couple of seasons were a little weak. Once Sisko shaved his head, things got better :) Then the last season was a bit rushed. Voyager? Where can I start with that mess. They had a weak plot going so they thought "Uh oh...our ratings are tanking....what do we do? I know! Bring in the Borg!" It was entertaining at parts, but I just didn't like the direction they took it in and I really disliked the last episode.

I love the first 6 movies. First Contact is also one of my all time favorites. As for Nemesis....sigh....had a lot of potential.....but for heaven's sake....they killed Data! Unforgivable.

Enterprise was lame, except for the last season, when they actually brought in some good script writers and the story became exciting. At that point it was too late to save it from the network exec's collective axe tho. I hope they give star trek a break for a while. Wait 10 years....come up with an all new generation. Short of that, I'd be happy if they'd just let Star Trek end as it is right now.

My favourite is the original series, but only the one's from the 60's the 70's episodes were kinda dry. Lieutenant Uhura=:) Lol. I also enjoyed DS9. First Contact was an amazing film.

'dammit Jim! I'm a doctor!'

Star Trek was only one for three years from 1966 to 1969, with a total of 80 episodes if you count the rejected pilot, "The Cage." The only 70's episodes would be from the animated series, which I didn't really like. I don't consider it the second series, becuase it's animation, rather than using actors and sets.

I know I'm probably some sort of freak, but my family and I all loved DS9 the best. My dad was old school original and loved TNG, but DS9 comes out on top. Once the war with the Dominion got going, we were hooked. I loved the characters: Dax, Bashier, Odo, Warf, Sisco, Jake, Quark...etc. I watched a lot of Voyager too, though. We could make it home after church every Wednesday night and watch it at 9pm. Never got into Enterprise though...I miss having Star Trek. I hope they make a DS9 movie at some point....

I like the original and TNG. I lost interest in the rest after about thier second seasons.

First Contact was my fav movie:)
You should know better than to judge a sci-fi show by it's second season. That's almost always it's worst season. :p I'd say give each Trek show till it's third season before writing it off as a bad show.
