The golden menorah was decorated, by Torah commandment, with the repeated form of a knob and a flower, often translated as knob and lily. The capitals atop the twin columns of Yachin and Boaz, the two pillars that King Solomon placed at the entrance to the Holy Temple, were likewise decorated with the pattern of the lily.
Also on coins issued by the kings of the Hasmoneans John Hyrcanus and Alexander Jannaeus the shape of a white rose of three leaves was minted, and it is the lily like the carved lily on the title of the Temple pillars
So the shape of the Star of David is found in the Torah, plain and simple!
G-d specifically commanded that the priests wear pomegranates on their garments (Ex 28:33-35; 39:24-26). Moreover, the Temple of G-d had the images of pomegranates and lilies on its pillars (1 Kings 7:18-26; 2 Chr 3:15-17).
In Song of Solomon we see that the Word of G-d presents the lily and the flower of the pomegranate in order to allude to divine love (Song of Solomon 5:13; 6:11; 7:2 .12).
It is clear that G-d uses these two symbols in the Bible: pomegranates and lilies. If you analyze their flowers, they look JUST like the Star of David.
In Hosea G-d says that the nation of Israel will blossom like the lily!
I will be as the dew unto Israel: he shall grow as the lily, and cast forth his roots as Lebanon. Hos 14:5
Interesting. It is really not so difficult to think of how the Israelites came up with the shape of this star
Yes, this star may be used by wicked people in unkosher circumstances, but so is the cross, the bible, and even the name of G-d. This means the symbol is perverted by some people, not wrong in and of itself! There is a huge difference.
And yes, the Bible speaks of a wicked star, but it speaks of a divine star as well! Analyze the prophecy in Num 24:15-19 and Mt 2:2.
Why are we so quick to say that the bad star in Amos 5:26, and Acts 7:43 is the Star of David as we know it today?
Is it because of antisemitism?
We must be very careful and do our homework before we draw conclusions.
