  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I dreamt I was at the top of stairs in an outdoor area, the place was lovely and surrounded by trees and green, in the dream I had a sense that this was a holiday spot I had been to before. The stairs were long and in the distanceI could see others moving either up or down. A few steps away from me stood a man (I know in real life). He wore a bright white t-shirt and was resting on the steps and looking straight at me with a very intense/serious look - I could not really read his look but it wasn't negative. Seems he was either resting or waiting. I am looking back at him but what stood out was his bright white t shirt and his placement on the stairs. What does this mean.

Friend, I do not know. But it sounds beautiful. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you, if this is His Will. I place dreams like this on the back burner so to speak of my mind, and wait on God. Some dreams are of the Lord Father but most are not. I try not to allow things as dreams, to distract me from what the Lord is guiding me elsewhere.
Seek your heavenly Father first, and these other things will fall into place. Blessings upon you and yours this New Year. 190441_1719173937845_8067390_n.jpg

What's the first name of the man and what is he like in real life?

His name means oak tree and I honestly do not know what this man is like in real life only that I have met him (as a friend) recently. I should mention that in the dream I was at the top of the stairs whereas he was a couple steps down from me. I have been asking the lord what he wants me to do about this man as he has been shown to me in previous dreams in a white t-shirt, if im being honest I am unsure as to this persons character and have been talking to the lord in prayer about his character because I'm not sure if the lord is showing him as my match, I should not judge but I cant see how he could be good for me he just doesn't seem that type in my mind.

I don't mean to burst your bubble but God does not show us our marriage partner in dreams. Over 95% of the time the people in your dreams are only symbols. The man is not a match for you, he's a symbol of something. Women get into trouble all the time by thinking the people in dreams are literal. I know many women who believed their dreams of marrying a certain man were literal so they went ahead and married the guy thinking he was their match but they're now divorced because those men were abusive or cheaters and some of them weren't even Christians. That's not God. God would never tell someone to marry a non Christian or someone He knew would abuse or cheat. They interpreted their dreams wrong because they let the desires of their heart rule their lives. It happens all the time and it's sad.

Since the bible says oak trees represent strength and being durable and stable (deeply rooted & grounded as per Amos 2:9) then it seems God is telling you that you are a few steps away from being united with some form of strength. A holiday resort is a place of rest. The resort symbolizes rest and the guy stopping on the stairs also symbolizes rest. Resorts and holidays are times when we stop striving and trying to work. So it seems God is telling you to take a break and rest. Learn to put your trust in Him. Spend, time reconnecting with God talking with Him and gaining life (green grass and trees depict life and growth). Develop a deeper level of intimacy and a closer relationship with God and learn to rest in Him.
That's what I'm seeing.
As you are on an upward journey and taking "steps" to become more durable and stable, He requires you to rest (stop) and trust in Him (rest/resort).

Hebrews 4
Therefore, let us fear if, while a promise remains of entering His rest, any one of you may seem to have come short of it. 2 For indeed we have had good news preached to us, just as they also; but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not united by faith in those who heard. 3 For we who have believed enter that rest, just as He has said,
“As I swore in My wrath,
They shall not enter My rest,”
although His works were finished from the foundation of the world. 4 For He has said somewhere concerning the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all His works”; 5 and again in this passage, “They shall not enter My rest.” 6 Therefore, since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly had good news preached to them failed to enter because of disobedience, 7 He again fixes a certain day, “Today,” saying [c]through David after so long a time just as has been said before,
“Today if you hear His voice,
Do not harden your hearts.”
8 For if [d]Joshua had given them rest, He would not have spoken of another day after that. 9 So there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God. 10 For the one who has entered His rest has himself also rested from his works, as God did from His. 11 Therefore let us be diligent to enter that rest, so that no one will fall, through following the same example of disobedience. 12 For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing as far as the division of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and able to judge the thoughts and intentions of the heart. 13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are open and laid bare to the eyes of Him with whom we have to do.
14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession. 15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who has been tempted in all things as we are, yet without sin. 16 Therefore let us draw near with confidence to the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.[/b]

Thank you for your response,

You didn't burst my bubble and I do appreciate your thoughts, hence the reason I come to these forums asking for guidance and seeking understanding through others thoughts. I am also not a woman who will blindly follow dreams just believing that God told me to marry a particular person. I have actually been faithful and using wisdom to seek the lords best for me for over 6 years, so I take the matter on a life long partner quite seriously. Yes I believe dreams are not always literal but in the past many have been prophetic for me, I was merely seeking the lords guidance on what he wanted me to do in regards to this person as it has been on my heart and troubling me and so has been a topic in prayer during my own quiet times.

Your thoughts have been helpful in giving me another perspective so thank you and yes deepening my spiritual life and walk with the lord is something I have committed to and will continue to do.
Blessings.
