  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Infancy stage: Today I invited Jesus into my car. He is in the back seat observing me. I must do my best to obey all the traffic rules so that he will be please with me. I think God help those who help themselves. Jesus will surely bless those who pleases him.

Toddler stage: No matter how much I tried, I am unable to maintain my patience for inconsiderate drivers on the road. There are rules that should not break but sometimes I choose break those rules. I relocated Jesus onto the passenger seat next to me. Probably, I will be able to perform better with him as a partner rather than an observer. I think if I work together with God, nothing is impossible for me to achieve. I can do all things through Jesus who give me strength.

Adult stage: It did not work out even with Jesus sitting next to me. He did gave me instructions and directions. When I lose my patience and got angry, I disregarded him and did want I wanted to do. Strangely, I did not remember once Jesus got angry with me for disregarding him. Just found out that he is not even accessing my performance. What he wanted all along is to relief all my burdens of being a chauffeur. I vacated my driver seat and Jesus took over. Right now, I am sleeping soundly while Jesus is driving.

Christianity is not what we can do for Jesus but rather what Jesus has already done for us.

I surely hope this is a analogy, and you don't drive down the highway sleeping???
Actually, we always have flesh problems, so cannot get away from our nature of what God calls: "...the flesh". As long as we are in these bodies we will often tend to resort to pleasing and indulging self, defending self, etc. (our fallen nature); and Satan will see to it (he who works always to draw us away from God). God well knows that and calls us to "...bring into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5). I often remind myself and others to walk and talk with our Savior: Jesus, the Christ; and that to keep my mind "...stayed on Thee", as He enjoins us ---right?

Hi 1watchman, i am not encouraging laziness by throwing everything to Jesus. But rather to flow with the Holy Spirit. The true walk with God is not suppose to be heavy burden but of light yolk. In of ourself, we are hopeless because of our flesh or sinful nature. Paul wrote that "the good that he wanted to do, that he do not. But the evil that he do not want to do that he always do." In the infancy and toddler stage, we do not understand this and we try to do our best but always fail. When we stop depending on our human efforts and flow with the Holy Spirit, the Christian walk become so easy and joyous.
