Paul taught and the Bereans checked the OT.Well, grounds for it simply won't do if God left us Writings to the important things. I want something explicit. I mean don't tell me you expect the Bereans to just trust Paul to fill in the OT Blanks regarding the OT with His more explicit oral word do you?
That is trueCatholics can post here and post their theology.
Edit - btw we are not allowed to debate Roman Catholics in their forum (OBOB)

Unless I am mistaken, I haven't seen a sub board here on OBOB where a non-Catholic can debate Catholicism.
If there is one, could someone point it out to me and if there isn't one, may I ask why not? Just curious. Thank you and God bless

NO, there is no debate section in OBOB for nonCatholics.
LLOJ, if you want to debate Catholic beliefs, you need to head over to GT, and the appropriate subforum.

Checked for what? Where did they check about the Holy Spirit being the 3rd person of the Trinity. Saying "Us or We" doesn't prove a thing. Saying 'Trust me' because I trust Peter's Writing as Scripture equally doesn't prove a thing. The point of this thread is that the Bereans were sola Scriptura men so everything needed to be in the OT to satisfy them. Now satisify me and show me where Paul taught the Holy Trinity from the OT to convince men who've never even concieved the thought that it was true.Paul taught and the Bereans checked the OT.
According to this site, the ancient Hebrews had a circular view of time, kinda like the hoola hoop...interestingWhen people use it and pretend that they're doing something scientific, it doesn't make it anything but circular
Yea, went to the dark side
You were a Calvinist
Acts 17:1-9
he reasoned with them from scriptures
Can you show me from Acts 17:1-9 where they found Paul wanting? Are you talking about where "the Jews which believed not"?
using scripture as the highest authority doesn't work for imbeciles anymore than tradition works for scholars. if tradition worked there'd only be one orthodoxy. There isn't because it doesn't.
I didn't miss that, n fact that is what I referred to v5 - "But the Jews which believed not moved with envy" - you left out - "But the Jews which believed not". I do not see where that "found Paul wanting." Some chose to hear and believe; some did not. Because they rebelled Paul was found wanting? It says some were persuaded. However
5.But other Jews were jealous; so they rounded up some bad characters from the marketplace, formed a mob and started a riot in the city.
What translation are you reading that you missed this?
agree..
If either worked exclusively on their own merits there would only be one Protestant Church and one Orthodox Church. Obviously other factors are clearly at work. Can't escape private interpretation written or tradition.
I give the scriptures more weight but do not ignore tradition.
Prayer also helps.
