Adios..we are going to lunch to celebrate!

She's actually a great kid to have around. We were planning to go to the beach but it's raining in southern California...dang.

Awww. Maybe you can go to the beach some other day before it gets too hot. I live in South Carolina and it's already like a furnace every time I step outside. :(

When I was in fourth grade, my mom took me to get my hair cut on the last day of school. It turned out really short and took all summer to grow out... plus all of fifth grade... and the following summer... but by sixth grade my hair looked okay again. :) But by that time I had acne!

I was just outside, hosing down the patio when I carelessly squirted some water into my Filipino neighbor's open bedroom door. Uh oh, I thought. Well, he appeared at the door with a big smile on his face and offered me a cup of coffee. What a gracious way for him to say "please remember that we're over here, dear neighbor, but we're all in the same state of goofy humanity, we're all on the same side, so let's share some coffee together."

LOL!!

If you throw a baseball through the window, maybe he'll bring out some lumpia!!!;)

Dang Rob, you're making me hungry...

Ok, I'm off to chase birds with the maintenance man (they got into my ceiling for some reason) and then pass out for a nap... I'm waking up wayyyyy too early lately  and it ends up giving me a headache later in the day. :(

Lumpia are Filipino egg rolls!

Sounds tasty!

My sister's roommate in high school was Filipino (well, she still is Filipino, but she's not my sister's roommate anymore :p :) ) and she gave us these pastries from a Filipino bakery that were filled with meat. I always wondered what they were called. Do you have any idea?

Anyone else catch the earthquake? Sure woke the office up. :D

Yes, I thought that I had started a post in TAW but the computer was moving so much, that it landed in OBOB.

It was a 5.3 located near Palm Springs in Yucaipa.

It was felt widely in the San Fernando and San Gabriel Valleys as it also affected the Sierra Madre fault. I'm very close to the Sierra Madre fault, so I thought it was a major earthquake - around 6.

Ya, it was just a few miles down the freeway from us here in Riverside.

Hey Photini, how's it going? :)
Pretty good. :) It's been a sort of boring week overall. I had to have 2 flat tires repaired yesterday morning. ICK! Luckily they held air long enough for me to get to the tire place. I lost the key to the trunk so I can't get to my spare. Not that it would have mattered since 2 tires were almost flat.
