For some reason it only appears very small here, but you can see it in the album on my profile
*stumbles into the taverna and gropes around*
Hi everyone
I've just finished a Deisis Triptych...and I've just about gone blind from the details
Hey Jenn!
RE: Facebook
I was helping at the festival this weekend, and had the joy and pleasure of indulging in baklava.
While at the festival I had a person of a non-Orthodox Christian tradition ask me why they should become Orthodox. Rather than engage them in theological debate, I should have given them the best reason of all: The FOOD!!!!!
It's just a link to the image in the album in her profile.
That is beautiful. How big is it?
Good morning to those who think Mona Lisa is small, to those who struggle on properties status within the bonds of marriage, to wooden spinning top carvers, to those who did know Kolyas wife name, to those who keep their spouse anonymous because of stalkers, to those who write creative stuff in journal entries for school and make their mother proud, to those who have their office in their bedroom, to those who cant sleep and/or attend athonite vigils, to Maureen whos backclap , and to other friends.
I usually though try to make it to daily DL and that works better for me
Emmanuel, hello!
Also, hello Maureen!
If you get a chance, please say a prayer for me - I have so much schoolwork to get done and I feel so totally drained now...ugh. I'm happy, I just feel like I've been run over by a truck
On the upside, I'm getting lots of work done on that stitching piece with the frog and I might post another photo soon...
Hey
It's so good to see you return. What a move though, hope you're enjoying Atlanta.
Hi Maureen, how have you been?
God bless you! I have difficulty making it to Liturgy on time on Sunday! (I must confess that I am sometimes jealous of the Catholics who have Mass on Saturday evenings. Morning person I am NOT!)
Hey Greg! Great to see you!
You've been on my mind a lot lately, as I'm truly loving the Greek Cathedral I'm going to.
What you never mentioned was how quick the Greeks are to pull you into things!
I've only been attending this parish three weeks, and I'm already chairman of a committee and they have me volunteering at the book store!!!
When my response was "But I didn't volunteer" they said "Yes you did, you just didn't know you did!"
I was originally going to a Ukrainian parish when I moved down here, but it's 40 miles away from where I live. With the recent gas shortage down here, and the price of gas in general, I thought it better to attend a parish closer to home. The Greek Cathedral is less than five miles away, is 20x the size of the Ukrainian parish (it was just a small mission parish with less than 35 members) and the people are just wonderful!
In regards to moving from New Jersey to Atlanta, yeah it was quite an unexpected move but a good one. I interviewed for the position Oct 22, 2007 and moved Nov 23! Although I miss my family terribley (my Grandmother asks me every week when I'm coming home) I do love it down here.
How are you?
Yes once you show willingness to help they start roping you in. Oh boy wait till you're at a celebration and they try to force you to dance
Oh I have no problems dancing!
But I can gaurantee that you've never seen an event like THIS at a Greek Church up North:
http://www.holytransfiguration.info/wp-content/uploads/2008/08/harvest-moon-hoedown-flyer1.pdf
(This is taking place at a Church about 30 min from me. I'm dying to go just to see what happens!)
Hahahahaha,
for some reason Greek, y'all, and hoedown just don't seem to fit in the same sentence. But it's the south, gotta love them...
So does your priest serve liturgy in Greek with a southern accent too? Our OCA priest who just retired served the liturgy with a southern accent and people had a hard time not cracking up when he threw in some slavonic for good measure.
Thanks! It will be great to meet in person!Wonderful Icon Julia wow.... It would take me a lifetime to finish... This spring/early summer we are coming to see my mom and dad... we will defenately love to see your icons and you of course
