Checking in on you all... could not resist hopping on an available computer.

You would not believe what we ate for a late evening snack... hummus and pita. I feel so Lenten already. I think I've had hummus like once or twice since last lent. After many such days, you kinda don't want to see it for another year.
I'm glad I'll be home Sunday afternoon as I have some cheese hanging out in the fridge. Some good ole Feta and some stinky Saint Albrais.

I have to work all day today but I'm off tomorrow. My first day off since Feb. 19th. I was off a total of 2 days the whole month of Feb. But I'm not complaining since I did ask for the overtime to help pay for the new computer. Still, I'll be glad to have a real day off.

It's good afternoon in this part of the world. Already had time to hit Mickey D's (yes, and not in Moscow, either!), had a final litiya said for my father's soul (Wed Mar 8th is 40 days, so had to be today, and ran an English lesson for kids!
Having a beer - a half-liter bottle (18 oz) of "Yarpivo" (pronounced YAR-pee-vuh) for 50 cents, the last cheap beer in Russia. Average price of beer has jumped by 50% over the past year; now it's typically 80-90 cents for a bottle ; six-packs are still uncommon. I have a whole post on that stuff over on my blog; there are lots of things strange to Westerners here.

I had to work for a few hours this morning. No big deal. We've had a hard week at the pharmacy this past week. Tuesday a lady (one of our long-time regular customers) collapsed in the store a few feet from my work area. I called 911 and the paramedics came, but she didn't make it. She died right there from a massive heart attack.

We've been so overwhelmingly busy, and I'm burnt out.
