• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

most of them will self identify as "society of saint pious the 10th chapel"

as to "what it is" it is a break away group, in some state of schism from the Church

they keep the old Latin Mass, so you would not be able to tell their services apart from any Latin Mass

prayers for reunification :crossrc:

I disagree with them being labeled as a "break away group" due to the fact that they are 100 percent Catholic and accept His Holiness, Pope Francis, to be the Vicar of Christ. However, they do disagree with many of the modernism the Church has been accepting for the past 50 years.

Do they accept Vatican II?

Arch Bishop Lefebreve, founder of the SSPX, was a council Father and even signed the documents of Vatican 2. However, many Bishops began denieing Church teaching as well as Sacred Tradition. When His Excellency Archbishop Lefebreve protested against the apostasy of many Bishops they began to laugh at him as he cried against the destruction of the faith. Because of the results of the council this is why he rejected Vatican 2.

If they accepted the Pope as the Pope, they wouldn't be having the problems they are. They have decided for themselves what Catholicism is about. Their status is due to disagreeing with the Church.

The group has pretty much given up.

They do accept The Pope for they are not sedevacantist nor do they identify themselves as such. The only things that separates the SSPX from the Vatican is the disagreement with Ecumenism and lack of tradition. Alot of their points come from Pope Pius X himself.

Who came before Vatican II.

If they accepted the Pope, they would be obedient.

So your telling me if the Pope began to contradict the ancient faith with modernism, such as saying atheists can possibly be saved, you wouldn't begin to question his opinions?
