Spreading the Word

I was wondering if anyone here could provide me with some good examples of successful advertising ( especially poster and flyer) campaigns they may have used or seen in the past which either spread the Word of God, or advertise a particular church. I'm trying to find some divinely inspired techniques to suggest to our Pastor, who is working very hard to get more and more people interested in Jesus.

Here in the States, someone is paying for billboards with sentences from God like:

Don't make me come down there! God

What about "thou shalt not" don't you understand! God

There are a bunch more that I can't remember right now, but the word is spread with love and humor!

Also, the Baptists tend to have wonderful sayings on their church sign such as "if you catch them I will clean them".

In Tulsa, a lot of businesses now have rolling billboards, they are billboards placed on the back of a trailer and pulled by a pickup truck and driven all over town unfortunately many of them are "gentlemen clubs" but I if your in a populated area it could be cool idea for a church, it would get attention.

If they don't have web site, they need one, lots of people will jump on the web and check you out.

The most effective I've seen were "Free car washes" and "Bake Give Aways".

When you blow away people's perspective of church fund raisers and tell them the stuff is free just like Jesus' gift to all, it makes a big impact. Many people will offer money anyways, so you can either just collect it -- or refuse it saying that the gift is free and it's totally up to them as to whether they will accept it or not.
