Did I lose anyone yet? Yeah, it seems the title suggests an ordeal, when we seem to have enough ordeals in our lives without one more to go. But who are we to decide the challenges we are to face?

Under God, each of us are above ground for a purpose. As God sees things differently than we do, as confirmed in Passages like Isaiah 55:8 remind us as much. But God did not intend there be a contest between what He knows and what we know. It’s no contest anyway.

What does God want? As stated as far back as Genesis 1:28 He wants u to be fruitful and multiply. And as He says in the next few Passages, He has provided us with the environment in which we may be fruitful and multiply. God wants us to grow, and to that end He has given each of us a purpose. If we love God enough as He so commands, we can get an idea of what that purpose is. Romans 8:28-30 says, “And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified.” Similarly, Ephesians 2:10 says “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” We were “wonderfully made” for His purpose as told in Psalms 139:14.

It may seem on the surface that there are different ways of doing things, of achieving goals; but there is only one way, and that’s God’s Way. The things He wants us to do are the things that result in gain for mankind. Amidst all He wants us to do is his second Commandment as expressed by Jesus in Matthew 22:39 which is to love your neighbor as yourself. Things like war and persecution do not accomplish that. neither do things like marginalizing and disenfranchising others. Neither do things like treating each person differently. Galatians 3:28 says we are all one in Jesus. We are free to be treated as we want to be treated, and that is with the respect and determination that goes with it. That respect and determination goes with a common cause, which is gain and growth for mankind.

Under God, we are considered equally. As Proverbs 20:10 says, unequal weights and measures are an abomination to the Lord.

Now everyone who is above ground and who loves the Lord have been given, amidst our other purposes, a mission: to spread God’s Word, as described by Jesus in Mark 16:15. And if we have to resort to things like war and persecution, and things like marginalizing and disenfranchising others, and if those surrounding us are so engaged, then we still have a long way to go. But God has equipped us for the long way, each of us fulfilling our part in a great work to continue gaining and growing what God created.
