Hi all -

My spouse has just been hospitalized for depression. He isn't doing well and treatment is slow. I'd like to humbly ask that anyone of any faith who feels willing and able to offer prayers, good thoughts, lit candles, or other support please do so.

My prayer to the Universe is the hope that the spouse will receive the care and healing that he desperately needs. If you feel like posting any prayer here that's OK with me; he'd probably like seeing that people are thinking about him. PM's are fine too, if you feel moved to send any.

It matters little to me what faith or religion anyone is who might respond to this request; so long as any prayer or well-wishing is heartfelt, I feel sure it will be welcomed and heard.

I too will pray for him, and for you too. This has got to be hard for you both.

I checked myself in to a Christian psychiatric hospital once. I was already a Christian, but had chemical depression. The Lord used that experience to change me profoundly. I pray the same will happen to your husband. God bless you both, friend.

Dear God thank You that You can heal depression.... Thank You that You can also comfort us when we are worried or sad or hurting.. Father thank You that this wife has been led to ask for prayer.. I believe You have helped her to come here.. Father hear her needs and answer... and I pray that You answer in a way that so encourages her heart.. so that she sees prayer as a way to solve every problem she ever has and ever will have!! For You desire for her to ask You anything and come to You for all she needs.. Bless her heart.. for You will hear and answer for You desire for her and her husband to live and prosper and find all that You have to give them.. Healing is a way You use to bring us to a greater understanding of who You are and how much You love us.. I pray this situation brings You glory... Your spouse did not likely get sick overnight, thus will not be "cured" overnight.
Battles of the mind are hard-fought. Our biggest battles always lie with ourselves. It is said: For every negative thought there must be 1000 positive thoughts to eradicate the negative one. There are also nutrients and chemicals which have often to be in balance before the brain functions "normally". But our environment and self image play a VERY LARGE role and if this can be made a positive place then you will see great improvement, regardless of circumstances.

Peace be with you and may comfort be afforded this family. AMEN.

Spouse is doing better. But you are very right, dyanm, it didn't really happen overnight, and it won't be "cured" overnight. Living with depression myself, I know it takes awhile...

If anyone else continues to feel moved to pray for my spouse and me, we'll still both appreciate it lots. Thanks again.
