  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

What's the difference in age between you and your spouse?

Also, do you think there comes a time when the difference in age causes you to become 'concerned'?

For example, when a 50 yr old man is marrying a 20 yr old woman? (Just an example, not meant to offend any 50 yr old men currently married to 20 yr old women)

:)

My husband is 1 year and 46 days older than me.

I've dated mostly older men in the past, the greatest difference being 10 years. I also dated one younger guy, only a year younger though.

It's hard to say on the age difference thing as people are all so different. There's so much more to it than age - maturity, situation, needs, intentions, motivations, existing family, history.....

My husband is 3.5 years older than me. We NEVER notice our age difference. It's kind of funny because we'll see our friends dating someone and feel like he's too old for her, but then we realize that we have the same age difference, if not more

My hubby is about 3 months 2 weeks older than I am.

To answer your other question, I think that as long as both parties are old and mature enough to deal with the age difference then it should be fine (for instance, no straight out of highschool person with someone who's been out for 20 years:) ). Also as long as neither party is looking at their mate as a "trophy spouse", then Lord bless them and their relationship. That's my personal opinion though, and I'm sure there's someone out there who may have been straight out of highschool with a much older spouse, who made it work, but for me that's the main time I'd be "concerned", other than being underaged but that goes without saying lol.

My husband is 12 years older than me, don't ever notice the age gap to be honest. I think it could have been an issue if I was 18 and he was 30, but I was 32 and he was 44 when we met.

BY the time I passed 30 I was fed up with the things I used to like in my 20's anyway and seemed to have started morphing into my mother :D

My husband is 9 1/2 years older than me.

When we first started dating, I was 19 and he had just turned 29. I don't think we would have gotten together if we'd have known eachother's ages at the time, but we knew we were right for eachother very quickly, so by the time it came up, it was something we could overlook. My parents thought it was a little odd when I first told them we were dating, and how old he was, but they changed their minds when they saw us together. Most of my freinds have alwys been older, so it wasn't really an adjustment for me, although we do pick on eachother a little about the age differences at times.
