Don't know where to post and I don't want to start a new topic.
Would you have sex in water?
I've just been to a public swimming pool here in central Asia and I was the only customer apart from 2 young things engaged in pretty intensive frolicking. Well I could have been disgusted from Hampstead UK and complained, or I could have just left straight away and felt angry. What I did do was what I usually do - I engaged in a theological conversation with myself. So as I did my lengths, keeping my eyes straight ahead and ignoring the squealing these Biblical thoughts came to mind. Is everything OK unless it is proscribed? These children of Abraham certainly expect sex to be amazing and I know they think about it a lot of the time. (Islam is weak here). Of course the situation is inappropriate but it did get me thinking how stiff (emotionally), fearful and uncreative we evangelicals can be. Maybe I should put in a private sauna when I return.
Anyway I did 10 lengths instead of my usual number, before I had to get out, and left them to their pleasures.

I am not necessarily saying O.S. is 'wrong.' (Though it definitely does not appeal to me). I am only saying I don't see it written in Song of Solomon, as the verses you posted seem like an awfully far stretch.

When I think of O.S., I think of porn flicks.

I just believe anything is acceptable in the marriage bed. The person who started this said he enjoyed OS right before he wrote that, yet said he was saving regular sex for marriage. If you having Oral Sex before marriage that defeats the purpose becuase it is just as much sex as regular intercourse. It's just as much a sin. I believe Song of Solomon is saying you are allowed to enjoy your spouse.. it's all about what you enjoy and what you are comfortable with... but it is to stay between you and your spouse

There are LOTS of ways to define what SoS was talking about, however, looking at the original language, and translating it correctly into today's words and meanings, it can be taken 'at face value' - ie. describing such things as unrobing, intercourse, oral sex, mutual masturbation, provocative dance and other such sexual things.

I'm not saying that those things are acceptable.. because they are not.. When I say anything is acceptable in the marriage bed, I mean things like oral sex or whatever the couple enjoys and chooses to do in that manner. That is between them. Anything that can sway the mind.. porn of any kind is WRONG.. and should never be used. I do not believe that books or movies should be used.. It should be a time of intimacy between a husband and wife.. nothing else.
