We covered in 1 Peter 1:1-9 how Peter is writing to strangers (people in countries) scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia, who where elected by the foreknowledge by God the Father. who believed, going through a never ending process of sanctification that would be in the rememberance of what Yeshua had done for the whole world. They were always obedient and had complete trust in God the Father, and Yeshua. Grace unto you, peace be multiplied. We also seen what great hope they had in the resurrection of Yeshua, and how they would receive an spiritual body that was reserved in heaven for them because of their faith.
The scattered people were encouraged by the good message of the Lord Yeshua, and were encouraged to be sober , to be ready for action, and to exercise self-control which came by and through the Spirit of Christ. Placing all hope on the gracious salvation (Yeshua), who is to be revealed to them by grace at the revelation of Yeshua Christ.
There was also a lot of suffering going on for the believers in this time, and they would have to suffer through the trails of having faith, loving their neighbor as themselves, and holding on to hope that God bestowed again to them, which relied on faith in someone they never seen, and still had faith in and believed. (1 Peter 1:8)
- 10 Of which salvation the prophets have enquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you; 11 Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.
- 12 Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into. 13 Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Yeshua Christ;
