John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.

When we have the Words of Christ Jesus in us, are we Spirit filled?
My translation says:
"It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh performs nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are enspirited, and they are alive."

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. -John 1:1-4

I think these scriptures typify one who is filled with the Holy Spirit. I know God has to work His Word in us. This should be our goal. We'll bear the most fruit when we're living these scriptures.

If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water. (But this spake he of the Spirit, which they that believe on him should receive: for the Holy Ghost was not yet given; because that Jesus was not yet glorified.)
John 7:37-39

"But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life."
Jude 1:20-21

"Rejoice evermore. Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”
1 Thess 5:16-18

"Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God,
that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name."
Heb 13:15-16

“Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, whom He hath redeemed from the hand of the enemy;”
Psalms 107:1-2

“Let the Word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by Him.”
Col 3:15-17

"See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;"
Eph 5:15-20

I have to admit that I think NOT.

Quoting a fleshly inspired 'word of truth' does not mandate the quickening power of the Spirit to that word.

A couple of presidents just came to mind as I was writing. But I must admit I can't truly judge them like God. So I guess the question really is if an unbeliever quotes the bible are they Spirit filled....I still think NOT.

agreed. being able to quote the bible does not make one any more Spirit-filled than quoting a medical text makes one an MD.:p

A person that is a Born Again Christian has the Holy Spirit dwelling inside them.

John 14:17
Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you
KJV

1 Cor 3:16
Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you ?
KJV

The Disciples were born again here.

John 20:22
And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:
KJV

They did, The Holy Spirit was in them.

Then Jesus told them:

Acts 1:4

4 And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.
KJV

Acts 1:8

8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
KJV

They were born again before the Day of Pentecost. On the Day of Pentecost they were baptized in the Holy Spirit and He came UPON them, He was already IN them.

The purpose of the Holy Spirit coming UPON them was for witnessing.

8c and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
KJV

The Holy Spirit stays IN us. He does not stay UPON us except while we are "witnessing".

"Witnessing" can be a multitude of things. From telling someone about Jesus at work to Preaching. From just living a godly lifestyle, which is a very powerful witness to laying hands on the sick.

satan quoted the Bible, so I tend to agree with you. But the word has power, regardless of who quotes it.

The point of that passage is not that his words are magic, or that merely by hearing them profits you anything. His point was that what he was teaching them was spirit and life.

Moreover, when he said that he was not referring to everything he ever said, but rather to what he had just taught them then and there.

If you 'have' what he taught them there, then yes you have the Spirit dwelling in you. It is entirely another question whether you have allowed the Spirit that dwells in you to over-flow and emerse all of you in him.

I agree with that basically, but there is an eternal quality to what God says. His intentions are eternal. If we find ourselves being somewhat overtaken by the shadow of death by our own distractions or misdeeds, we don't need to wait for Him to redeclare His will to us. From the moment we continued in His Word the first time we heard it and had His covenant promises take root in our hearts, we can declare and come into agreement with those words and it will be as though He just said it.

If we line up with the intent of the Word, the power in them is just like He first uttered it. It is a quality inherent in His Word. They are not magical incantations to be uttered, they are the revealed will of God for His people and for His creatures and can be acted on without any great moves from God to initiate.

All the more better for us when we find ourselves in a place where we don't seem to hear God, that we use the name of Jesus or acknowledge what He has already said
. The forces of Heaven agree with that when your intent is the Lordship of Jesus. There is a resident power in the Word, when spoken in faith. We experience it when we speak the Word over our own lives when we "feel" like God isn't there or that the winds and storms of life come against our house and say otherwise.

God is waiting for us to agree with Him not only in what He is saying right now, but in what He has already said.
He doesn't need to say it again, although He does. His "Testament" is His "will". It is our surety against the enemy.

What are the experiences of being Spirit Filled.
What did you see, feel and the results?

The experience cannot be described. The initial infilling lasts for months. It is an overwhelming feeling of well being. I am sorry I cannot explain. Something happens inside your spirit. There is a burning, an invigoration, a renewal, and you just want to tell somebody about it, but you quickly find out that you can't tell just anybody.Your friends begin to become wary of you if they have not had the experience. All you want to talk about is Lord Jesus and His Word. Your body backlashes at you because sin is there, so you find yourself at war with your own flesh. But the hunger and thirst for the word is great so consume it like food. That is my best description and I know it is a poor one.

I read one person couldn't have a normal family gathering due to some members being another denomination. Something like a split among family members cause one didn't want to associate with a another non-Pentecostal.
Does anyone here know of such behavior among families?

That happens because of the anointing one is under from the infilling. Like I said, it is something that you cannot tell everyone. But, some people alienate because the anointing make one very bold, and one cannot seem to help trying to lead others into what they have experienced. I just started talking to people who had just been filled. I remember talking to a friend of mine, who had just gotten filled. He said that He could tell the anointing was on me, I sure could tell it was on him. We were chattering and grinning like two drunk people. LOL. But, others who have not had the experience get angry. I am not sure whether it is anger or envy. I am not Pentecostal. I attend a Baptist Congregation. But my Pentecostal friends are quite comfortable around me. We relate well because our conversation is always about Lord Jesus.

Agreed, we need the baptism of the Holy Spirit before we are spirit-filled.
God Bless.

That is interesting that some people get angry when they encounter you. What I have learned that when people with spiritual problems like demonization come too close to a person filled with the Holy Spirit, there is a negative manifestation. You have done nothing wrong.

There is a persecution that comes from the world merely because you are a righteous person. The world, flesh and devil hates righteous, Spirit-filled people. The intensity of the hatred can range from being mildly uncomfortable, to such blinding hatred they want to attack and kill you like the crowd did to Stephen. All Stephen did was to preach the good news of the Gospel, and he paid with his life. Those sinners were so angry with him they gnashed on him with their teeth. Paul shared the good news with the gentiles and in some cities they stoned him and I believe that one stoning actually killed him and the disciples gathered around him and raised him from the dead.

Just being Spirit filled can generate hatred in those who are not Spirit filled. You have done nothing to deserve this except that you got filled with the Spirit because you wanted more of God in your life.

What the heck does "Words of Christ Jesus in us" mean?

the verse you post says the Spirit does the changing in you, not you doing it. it's talking of maturity, not power.

Vss to use to see if you are spirit filled.

Do you still have a sinful nature?
then you aren't spirit filled, rom 8:9

If you still sin, you aren't with the Spirit gal 5:16.

So if someone lies to you, then speaks in toungues it's a [bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse][bless and do not curse] act.
