  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I just saw it last night. It was awesome. Although I didn't much care for the villian, the man just wasn't that villianous and was kind of lame. I liked the ending even though I didn't much care for Kirsten Dunst as Mary Jane. And what was with the black bridesmaid dresses? that was sort of morbid. The song at the end is a cool song. Anyone know the title and who sings it?

My reviews:

Spider-man
Acting: {}{}
Aweful. Cheesy lines, as emotionless as a rock and generally robotic.

Storyline: {}{}{}
O-kay, but a bit predictable, and does not delve enough into character development.

Special effects: {}{}{}{}
The strong point of the movie, good clean fun to kill the time. Slightly robotic at times, but a minor complaint.

Villain: {}{}
Green Goblin. Aweful. Just Aweful. This idiot-guy flying around dropping bombs and that irritating laugh. Mouths too much and fights too little.

According to the Comics: {}{}{}
(Written by a friend who actually read the comics)
Fair. Some details incorrect are: in the comics, Peter Parker was bitten by an irradiated spider, not a hybrid super spider. Peter Parker himself couldn't spin webs, but made mechnical web lauchers with his knowledge of science. And before Mary Jane Watson, there was Gwen Stacy who was killed by the Green Goblin. Still, it works, so can't complain.

Verdict: {}{}{} 2.8
A good, fun action movie, but short lasting and leaves a bad taste in the mouth. Hope the sequal would do better, but seeing the box office grab-ins that the first received, I doubt they would want to change much - which is bad.

Spider-man 2
Acting: {}{}{}{}
Much, much improved. Good realism. A lot more emotions and animated. Can't believe they're the same actors!

Storyline: {}{}{}{}
Introduction of great plot twists. MJ Watson is engaged to an astronaut (played by a Kiwi, BTW :D), Peter Parker hangs up his suit after losing his powers, fired from his job, and failing school work. Very well done.

Special effects: {}{}{}{}
Carrying on from part one's success maginicantly. The train scene was heart-stopping.

Villain: {}{}{}{}{}
Doctor Octopus. Way cool. Matrix-style trenchcoat and shades. Stomping around with four extra limbs, throwing car pieces around. Fights a lot more and talked less. Worthy villain for Spidey.

According to the Comics: {}{}{}
(Written by a friend who actually read the comics)
It seemed that amongst superhero movies, only Batman 1 has ever scored anything higher than three. Doctor Octavius was fused to the harness and driven insane by radiation accident, not taken over by a computer AI. Docter Octopus abducted Aunt May and another of Parker's girlfriend, not MJ Watson. But such deviations still work as a story line, so can't complain.

Verdict: {}{}{}{} 4.0
A surprise improvement over the first one on all accounts. I could hardly believe it's the same actors and director - the film was so much improved from the first. Can't wait for number 3 (if there will be one). Ominous sign, however, as the utterly charmless and aweful Green Goblin returns through Harry Osbourn. I hope they throw in a double-trouble instead of the current one-on-one fomula.

I REALLY enjoyed Spiderman 2 and agree that it was better then the first one. I still liked the Green Goblin more then Doc Ock however. But that was probably because it was Willem Dafoe, who I really like.

SPOILERShe should have married the astronaut. She only ran away with Peter Parker because she's infatuated with the spiderman idea. She obviously must have been in love to one degree or another with the astronaut and that relationship was totally more upfront and less complicated than the whole relationship with Parker. She was in love with the astronaut for the consistent person in and out of the spotlight and with her. Sorry, but if she was my sister I would have hit her upside the head with her bouquet.

(guys- I know this doesn't fit with the whole spiderman story, I just had to put in my two cents anyway)
