A couple nites ago, I was at my aunts house who raised me, (now I don't know for sure if my family is saved or not. cause I never see any fruits in their lives.) so anyway their was this big spider that got in the house somehow, this spider was pretty fast, and I was trying to keep up with it cause I didn't want to lose track of it. anyway, it got away. and I lost track.

so I must have left the room for something, and when I came back, they were just setting back their in the room. my 14yr old niece was back their playing her game like she always does, and I was like, were did the spider go, and she turned around and said back their on the wall. I was like what! how come yall not trying to get outta their. I was wondering, why I was scared and being a christian, and they were back their like it was know big deal. what's this all about? is this just one of those bizzare dreams. since I did see a spider at work eairler in the week.

Someone else on this forum had a dream about a spider. If I recall, in the dream the person sprayed it with bug spray, and it turned into a young girl, screamed and ran away.

I shared the dream with my pastor, who thought it was the spirit of Jezebel. If your family and/or household is the type where the women are dominant, and the men are the laid back, irresponsible types, or just laid back, then the intpretation could be the same for you. The spirit of Jezebel often manifests as a spider.

I believe that a spider dream is not necessarily a “bad” dream. In fact, just the opposite – a dream spider can be a very positive image.

Whenever I try to interpret the meaning of a dream animal, such as the spider, I ask myself, “What make this animal unique?” There must be some reason why a spider is in your dream rather than a centipede, a wasp or perhaps a grasshopper.

What is it about spiders that make them different? A few things spring to mind: (1) the spider has eight legs, (2) the spider makes webs and (3) spiders are often seen a being female.

In this particular dream, anyone of these spider traits could be important or perhaps none of them.

However, the one that seems to apply to this dream is the symbol of the spider as being female. You specifically mention your niece. The spider is somehow a symbol of female energy or power within you.

Settle down and don’t get upset over this. This is actually a good thing. All men have a female part of themselves just as all women have a male part. The spider and (apparently) your niece are positive image of this woman. She sounds like she is the Anima or the Great Mother. Whoever she is, she is a helper.

You also mentioned that you saw a spider at work. (I assume that seeing a spider is not a normal thing for you. For example, you don’t crawl under houses for a living.) Jung called this synchronicity. That is, this is a meaningful coincidence. Incidences of synchronicity are especially common among sensitive people. They used to happen to Jung all the time.

Dear George, I agree with Bobinator, I do not know if it was Jezebel. But I'm happy to take bob's advise on that one, but for sure the spider is an unclean creature which means defferently a demon.
Meaning our family have allowed a demon into there lives without knowing it, a direct result of unfruitful. It may be that the demon or spider was in there lives all along and they never dealt with the issue's or they did some thing or in your case being lukewarm christian can mean that they did not do something such as making a real attempt and following the lord.
Either way the Lord has given you insight into you families spiritual lives I would now suggest it is time to seek the Lord as to what he wants you to do with the information. For the Lord did not give you the dream so you could sit on your behind and enjoy the ride he expects you too show some initiative and start praying as to what the Lord wants to do or how he wants you to handle the situation.
It is one thing to be shown this in a dream it is another to find the Lords answer and to see your family set free. Blessings and keep up the good fight.
If you need advise on how to fight then repost this in the spiritaul warfare section.

Bingo.

I'm not a dream interpretor, but from what I understand, spiders do allude to the demonic. Specifically, witchcraft. A good friend of mine had dreams of spiders after moving in to a new home. I don't remember exactly how it all went down, but she had a group of friends over to pray in to the situation, and one of them received a word that witchcraft books were in the house. After dealing with that issue, the dreams ended.

I have no authority or enough understanding to say this is always the case, but my friend, you need to find out what your niece has been up to.

Blessings,
FIHH

After praying about it when I saw a spider creating a heavy web & nest others received the word witchcraft as well. As was stated it may be nothing any of your family did to bring this on. It could be a practicing ancestor or someone that had witchcaft thrown at them.

Witchcraft is a very real possibility. Earlier, I mentioned the spirit of Jezebel. Jezebel and witchcraft go hand-in-hand. In real life, Jezebel was very controlling and was a high priestess serving in the temple of Baal. She was also a daughter of the Chaldeans, who were the ones that invented astrology, etc. A common response from the person being delivered from the spirit of witchcraft/Jezebel is shaking of the hands, and high pitch wailing. Some people in this forum that are involved in the deliverance ministry may recognize this. Just thought I'd share this little tid bit.

Thanks for bringing this up, Grace.

Is this why my niece/family wasn't all that alarmed over a spider being in the room, I was wondering why I was and they were not. it's like I knew how dangerous this could be. theirs alot going on in this family. my uncle smokes dope everyday, cussess all the time, my niece dresses however she want's. and she's into all these hard videos, music etc. and she dosn't think anything is wrong with it.

they tell me that I'm too churchy and don't want me preaching to them. I was raised up in this family, so I've been around this stuff. but I finally moved out on my own, and got saved when I was twentynine. I'm still wondering how God saved me even though I didn't grow up in a christian home? you guys may have a point here. thanks.

The spider could represent evil. Your neice, along with most of the world is full of sin. In today's world, evil is seen as the new "cool" thing to do. Sin has become accustomed into our lifestyle more than ever. Youir neice probably recognized the spider as nothing more than what she has in herself as we all do. Thus, not being afraid.

Guys, the spider represents sin, and the deceitfulness thereof.
What do spiders do? They spin webs.
What do webs do? Catch prey to be devoured.
Rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft.

The spiders are, therefore, not ACTUAL witchcraft, but unaddressed sin...
sounds like those things you mentioned could very well be a good starting point, George.

When you are not following God's will, guess what that means?

George, I would guess your family needs to be woken up.
They need the Word preached to them, and they need to not be coddled in this.

"This I have against you: you have lost your First Love.
Remember the height from which you have fallen! Be zealous, therefore, and repent..."

Jezebel would be more seen in things like false teaching in the Church
(teaching His people to commit fornication by eating food offered to idols)
and false prophecy. Unless that is going on in your home,
I would address the more obvious need: the need to repent.
Without holiness, no one will see God; it is better to enter life maimed
than to have your whole body cast into the fires of Hell.

Be blessed, George.

Personally, I would be very hesitant to make a universal interpretation of a symbol (the spider) that isn't interpreted in the Bible. IMO, if it's not in the Bible, it can really go in quite a few directions depending on the culture and on how God is using that particular symbol.

A brief search of the Bible reveals (depending on your translation) 2-3 references to spiders in all of scripture. 1-2 of them are about the spider's web, and use it as an allegory for weakness.

Job 8:14 (NIV)
What he trusts in is fragile ; what he relies on is a spider's web.

Job 27:18 (ESV)
"He has built his house like the spider's web,Or as a hut which the watchman has made.

An uncommonly translated verse has:

Proverbs 30:28 (NKJV)
The spider skillfully grasps with its hands, And it is in kings’ palaces.

The other main reference is:

Isaiah 59:5 (ESV)
They hatch adders' eggs and weave the spider's web;He who eats of their eggs dies,And from that which is crushed a snake breaks forth.

Two primary refs are Job 8:14 and Is 59:5 though, and neither one give a clear definition of what a spider is symbolic of. Therefore I would put little weight in saying that a spider symbolizes either witchcraft, demons or sin, unless the dream itself suggests that as an interpretation. In that case, it still wouldn't be evidence that a spider is symbolic elsewhere of witchcraft, demons or sin, because it's not scriptural.

Anyway, I'm really interested in what spiders might symbolize, because I've had several perplexing dreams that involve spiders. Here's a segment of one of those dreams:

[I'm in a bright, sunny park and] God was there physically in human form, explaining things to me. I don't remember what He looked like. Suddenly a spider starts dropping down from the sky, and God says that the spider is a real prophetic symbol. Then we leave and I'm in my home, and many spiders and other animals around, and God starts talking about waiting and observing to see if a creature is hostile or not. Essentially what He says is that you can't assume any given animal is hostile, you have to wait to see if it is or not. Some of the spiders hiss and jump at me, and I command them to die, which they do. So I have power over them.... [continues in another theme]

So I can understand if you want to say that "spiders and many other animals" are symbolic of demons at that point, but what about the first spider dropping down from the sky? Why would it appear in such an otherwise bright, clear scene?

In my other dream, here's what I wrote:

"Had a dream that spiders only recently came to mean demons, and that they used to have neutral/good connotation. (check Bible)"

So perhaps you can see why I think we should be careful about how to interpret spiders. And yes, that's verbatim what I wrote when I woke up from the dream, and no, I have absolutely no recollection of what the dream was, other than that it involved spiders that weren't evil.

We should always use caution when reading others interpretation. The Spirit tailors each Word to the group or person hearing it. What may be a generally godly symbol may be used to represent something evil.
That is why we each must pray about the message we've been given. People may only give you an idea based on experience unless the Lord gave them an actual word to give the seeker.
