I'm usually not very obsessed with spelling. That's what spellcheck is forI worry more about getting the words I want on paper, and I can fix the spelling later

I will spend hours, if not days, trying to get the right word. And there are days when I couldn't spell "the" correctly.
I recently found--ie someone told me about-- an etymology site. I could get lost for hours.

Right now, I got nothing. Let me think about it and I'll post again later.Days huh??? Well, maybe you would know the word I've been trying to find. It's similar to the word Vandalism... but it's not quite. It's been driving myself and my co-workers nuts!
I'm looking for a word that more or less means destruction rather than reason for.well, if not spellcheck, editing and proofreadingI refuse to use spell check (short of for college work....) because I KNOW I'll become dependant on it and stop spelling altogether.
I can't stop and make sure I kn ow how to spell every word before putting it on paper. If I don't know how to spell the word I'll make a note and check it in the second draft Demolish Raze Wreck Crash ObliterateSimilar in meaning. So many people hav e thrown words out like conspire and conviction...I'm looking for a word that more or less means destruction rather than reason for.
Hmm.. still thinking something else, and the harder we search for this word, the harder it's getting to come up with something.
