  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Is anyone good at this?

I need a good speech for a "Show Off" (It's a preview of a cheerleading routine), which is on April 4th. And I have to be the MC and do the speech because I am the current coach person.

Any help would be great!

This is the format I was thinking of using:

1. Welcome and Thanks
2. Thanking the other coach who did awesome with them this year.
3. Introducing the freshman on the squad
4. Introducing the sophmore and the juniors
5. Introducing the seniors and letting the juniors give the senior awards.
6. Tell everyone how awesome the girls have been and how hard they have worked.

Then the girls will perform.

7.Thank everyone for coming again and the night will be done.

So please!!! Anyone willing to help, i would greatly appreciate it!

All I really know about speech writing is the old axiom:

Tell 'em what you're gonna say, say it, then tell 'em what you just said.

Dunno how well that works, though.

If you're a little nervous about getting up in front of all those people, take some AV material--if they're all looking at your pretty pictures, they're not looking at you.

They are not really awards, they are just gifts the younger girls want to give the seniors.

But that is a good idea to think about, giving them to them after.

And I would rather do point six after all the girls are out on the floor. I think. Now I am rethinking everything!
