  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Has anyone attempted this & who are you using online to help ya? I have tons of avenues as I wait to get my son into special ed in my district here.it may be a week or 2 before I know where he will be and in the meantime I filled out legal papers to homeschool as that's the law here in Colorado. There are too many online programs and I'm filling out one application after another. Tiring!

If I was going to pay someone, this is the one I was most interested in:
http://www.themorningstaracademy.org/whatyouget_05/whatyouget1.php not sure if they have a "special ed" per say, but I would guess they do.

I decided since my sweetie is not just in one grade level, so to speak with her strengths and weaknesses, I would be best to just buy Pre-K and K curriculum from amazon.com, and also incorporate daily things into school opportunities (grocery shopping, looking at rocks and trees etc...). This way I can use whatever book she is at grade level for what I am trying to focus on. I also use "Handwriting Without Tears" program for her at home: www.hwtears.com.

To be more specific, my daughter is above level in some areas and behind in others...so I just grab whatever book fits what I am trying to address.

And, if you are interested in downloading home school programs, I have found some pretty good ones. Some are geared for schools, but they will allow home schoolers to download them, if you know how to fill out the requests.

I started to but couldn't handle it. He was unable to block out home stimulation so he's in a new public school program and for now-it's going okay. He has alot of hyper activity happening and they provide a safe enclosed gym area 3 x a day to him. Good luck, thanks for adding to this ..ya never know when I may have to go back to it.

I will definitely check out those links. I'm homeschooling my autistic son and would like some new things to work with.
i would like to homeschool my autistic son, i just don't know if i am capable! It seems like an overwhelming situation. I did homeschool my son with ADD for 8 years, but that was different. How do you do it? what do you use? How do you handle him with the other children in the house? I would love to know more
