  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Jeroboam, the 1st king of Israel during the divided kingdom, left behind a bad example that would effect all of Israel's future. The history went something like this...When Nadab, the second king of Israel, took the throne he walked in the ways of his father, Jeroboam. (Jeroboam wasn't really his father. The bible refers to Jeroboam as a father like example.) I Kings 15 states, "Nadab did evil in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the ways of his faher and in his sin, which he caused Israel to commit." Because of Jeroboam's example Nadab led Israel the same way, which caused the nation to fall into sin. Nadab was then killed by one of his own men Baasha, who then took the throne. Baasha reign is also described the same way, "He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, walking in the ways of Jeroboam and in his sin, which he caused Israel to commit."Baasha reigned for twenty-four years before he was succeded by Elah. Elah reigned for two years. He, like Nadab, was killed by one of his own men, Zimri. Elah left the same legacy behind, "having done evil int he eys of the Lord, walking the ways of Jerobaom and in his sin, which he caused Israel to commit." Zimri is described (can you guess?) in the same way, "having done evil int he eys of the Lord, walking the ways of Jerobaom and in his sin, which he caused Israel to commit.". Zimri reigned for only seven days because he committed suicide by setting his palace on fire. Omri was number six. He is also described as evil in the eyes of the Lord for having followed in Jeroboam's example. Twelve years later Ahab would follow Omri, making him the seventh and worst king of Israel's history. Jeroboam left MANY bad examples that other kings picked up on and put into their practice.

I think I'm leaving behind a good example. I would want people to follow my example because i feel that I am leaving a positive impact on people's lives. America as a nation isn't leaving behind a very good example to follow. Christians must leave behind one worth following because of our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, unlike Jeroboam and the kings who followed him. We have seen what happens when people who don't follow God's law are given power, the result is destruction. As a Christian, I hope to be apart of leading to a better nation. I can start by witnessing to my friends. When I die, I hope to be remembered as the boy who stuttered, but wasn't afraid to talk. If I ever become what i want to be, an NFL or AFL wide receiver, I want to witness to other players in the locker room. Also, Iwant to have good sportsmanship on and off the field. I want many people to be like and be close to me so that they can start leaving behind the same example that I am hopefully leaving. I hope to be like Christ in all my thoughts and actions.
