Lehman Strauss was a well known Bible teacher and writer in the USA. He was the teacher on the nationally weekly broadcast, "Bible Study Time." He made various visits to the UK.
Strauss taught Old Testament history for eight years at Philadelphia Bible Institute, and served as pastor of the Calvary Baptist Church, Bristol, Pennsylvania, from 1939 to 1957. He was pastor of Highland Park Baptist Church (Highland Park, Michigan) until the end of 1963 when he resigned to devote full time to an itinerant Bible conference work.
He was residing in Florida and writing his 19th book at age 86 when he went home to be with Christ in June 1997.

That's a good point Timothy. They yet had to Old Testament but they were living out/writing the New. During the time that they were beginning to spread the word (much like in our day) there were hordes of "sects" of false teachers who also used the Old Testament (we see this in Acts 5:36-37). The idea of signs and wonders has always been a reinforcing act that showed God was speaking, it got the attention in an undeniable way. False teachers have always been around, and will always be around until the end. The Old Testament pointed towards Christ but even this part of the revelation wasn't complete. We know that these images or types of Christ exist in the Old Testament but to the Israelites at that time they were still a "shadow" (Hebrews 10:1). God used the signs to spread His word and get the attention of the people. This is the same reason that Jesus performed signs and wonders Acts 2:22 "Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:" (I have a sermon about "signs and wonders" on the website.. follow my url in my profile if you want to hear it..)...2Timothy2 said:Oops, I know this isn't what you meant BT. I still think it is a stretch to apply the "that which is perfect" to the closing of the canon. "We know in part" and "then that which is in part shall be done away", has our ability to know been eliminated by the completion of God's word? I know many Christians who act like it, but this isn't really the case, or isn't suppolsed to be.
