I find spanking pointless and non-productive, regardless of age. What would probably be better would be to do what reparations you can do in regard to whatever it is you are wanting to do penance for. If you are doing nothing but accepting physical pain as penance then how is it useful to you and (maybe, even more importantly) to others?

I don't think everyone is spanked simply for penance or physical pain. Spanking, within the bounds of marriage (no pun intended) REALLY livens up one's love life in the bedroom. I am definitely a fan of it, but only if both parties agree to it. Now, what I'm NOT a fan of is spanking of high schoolers by teachers or principals. I'm not saying that their ain't times that they couldn't use it (as in for cases of violence or bullying or vandalism, etc.), but still is used far too often for offenses like chewing gum, being late, skipping school, missing words on spelling bees, etc., cases where no conduct or behavior problem. I think, as in cases of prom dresses in high school in Alabama, would have been simply easier to keep out the girls with too skimpy prom dresses at the door instead of paddling them and all hell breaking loose with angry parents, the news media, and potential lawsuits, and bad publicity, and makes the paddler looks like a pervert (whether he is or not).

I understood that the OP might be getting involved in a domestic discipline relationship, but not with sexual intent.

I understand how one might seek an ecstatic (I think that's the word I'm looking for) religious experience thru pain. It would not be my choice, but some people pursue that.

Others might seek to "beat" their self into submission. Neither a choice I would make.

And yes, there are quite a few ways that pain is used by people. Whatever you're into, just be careful.

I think most of the rest of the western world would be amazed that people in a modern country are getting beaten for being late or not doing spelling correctly - plus a male teacher beating skimpily dressed girls - that utterly out of order.
