  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Sowing A Seed
Luke 8:5"A farmer went out to sow his seed. As he was scattering the seed, some fell along the path; it was trampled on, and the birds of the air ate it up. 6Some fell on rock, and when it came up, the plants withered because they had no moisture. 7Other seed fell among thorns, which grew up with it and choked the plants. 8Still other seed fell on good soil. It came up and yielded a crop, a hundred times more than was sown." When he said this, he called out, "He who has ears to hear, let him hear."9His disciples asked him what this parable meant. 10He said, "The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of God has been given to you, but to others I speak in parables, so that, " 'though seeing, they may not see; though hearing, they may not understand.'11"This is the meaning of the parable: The seed is the word of God. 12Those along the path are the ones who hear, and then the devil comes and takes away the word from their hearts, so that they may not believe and be saved. 13Those on the rock are the ones who receive the word with joy when they hear it, but they have no root. They believe for a while, but in the time of testing they fall away. 14The seed that fell among thorns stands for those who hear, but as they go on their way they are choked by life's worries, riches and pleasures, and they do not mature. 15But the seed on good soil stands for those with a noble and good heart, who hear the word, retain it, and by persevering produce a crop.
2 Corinthians 9:6 Remember this: The person who plants a little will have a small harvest, but the person who plants a lot will have a big harvest. 2 Corinthians 9:10 God is the One who gives seed to the farmer and bread for food. He will give you all the seed you need and make it grow so there will be a great harvest from your goodness. 11 He will make you rich in every way so that you can always give freely. And you’re giving through us will cause many to give thanks to God.
Galatians 6:7 Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows. 8The one who sows to please his sinful nature, from that nature[a]will reap destruction; the one who sows to please the Spirit, from the Spirit will reap eternal life. 9Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

The parable of the sower teaches that the gospel won't be received with equal effect, At least four things can interfere: satanic opposition, outside persecution and peer pressure and the attraction of the world's pleasures. But if it does take root, God's word can produce a fruitful life. After reading that passage, it comes to mind how you have let your seeds sow, how much have you done for your harvest to reap exceedingly? How far have you let the word of God embed in your lives? When complications come into your lives, how do you react? Do you sometimes let worry, doubt and stress overtake the situation, because that’s only normal to happen but we have a great Father that watches over us and wants to see us grow more and more spiritually, into a righteous person with a large harvest. If a farmer wants to sow certain different plants, he needs the right utensils for it to reap, like wise if we want to make certain things reap in our lives we need the right way of thinking, if we want to sow a seed to forgive, for finical blessings, to be a better person in general, or to let go of worldly addictions, we need to continue to have faith and ask God to take control because He wants to help us, and see us succeed. With the more prayer and worship we have, were watering our seeds and accepting God to remove any darkness and fill us with the sunlight we need. Seeds grow quietly but persistently. Like seeds, the growth of God's kingdom is the result of divine power, not human effort.

I'm always amazed at how God works. Often there are two roads ahead, one that seems right and the one that says "this is the way"
I feel blessed that God has givin oppurtunity for seeds to be planted. One sows, one waters, and one harvests. Foundations are made and others build on them.
The important thing is to sort out what is the patterns of stepping stones and what are the foundation stones. Usually traditions will hold the essence of a truth as the means of preserving but we must all do the work building, no one can do it for us.
