• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

In a violent sense, the worst persecution of Christians is probably in some of the countries of the Middle East which have Islam as a majority religion. North Korea, with its state atheism, is another major region where Christians are violently persecuted. We should never use this as an excuse to hate Muslims, however, or to fear them. I say this because fear and misunderstanding related to Muslims does no good for the Christian faith.

I am not going to make the hackneyed and oft-repeated claim that Islam is a religion of peace (something which is, unfortunately, not always true, as you can obviously see watching the six o' clock news), but most Muslims are non-violent, and the more common varieties of the religion do not encourage or condone terrorism. Terrorism in the Middle East is often more political than religious, at least when directed toward outsiders, and receives religious support.

As far as non-violent persecution is concerned, it probably comes more often from secularism. It's more common in general, particularly in European nations.

Well, I can't say that I've ever hated or feared Muslims. As a matter of fact, in the midst of my view on this subject I met a Muslim girl from a Muslim country and married her. I guess I don't hate or fear them.
She is now a born-again, blood bought, saint of God, and lover of Jesus.

Yes, most Muslims are generally peaceful. They don't obey or follow the teachings of Mohammad 100%.
Likewise, most Christians do not strictly follow the teachings of Jesus 100%.

Never loose site of the fact that the Koran says that there is no worse CREATURE (not human) on earth than a Christian or a Jew.
It also says that if someone were to kill a Christian or a Jew they will get "brownie points" with God. It also says that if they get killed while they are killing its even better.

Most Muslims are peaceful (as far as that can go without Peace, Himself - Jesus). But we must not forget that Islam is a very political, militant religion that calls for carnal warriors to execute anti-christian agenda.

It comes from the devil. Whether it is in the form of Muslim oppressors (in the Middle East or North Africa) or Hindu oppressors (in India) or atheist oppressors (in North Korea or China, and formerly Russia) or the pagan oppressors of old (Roman Empire, pagan Europe) there is no logical, humanistic reason which is adequate to explain the irrational hatred that comes upon the devoted Christians who love their non-Christian neighbors. Oh, there are preachy, insensitive types who get it because they're preachy and insensitive, but I'm talking about the irrational hatred of Christians who are known for their good deeds - the hard workers and good listeners who are blameless in people's eyes, yet get derision, real discrimination, and bodily harm. That comes from the devil himself.

I agree the root of it is demonic. I have heard that about 450 Christians are killed every day for their faith. Although some of that comes from non-Islamic sources, most of the 450 Christians killed every day are killed by Muslims. Hindu's may be opposed to the gospel and such, but you don't hear of Hindu terrorism.
As far as Atheist countries, you listed Russia. Although they may be, but they are moving FAST toward Islamic Shariah law. In fact, the powers that be in Russia are trying to get into the OIC (Organisation of the Islamic Conference), hooking up with 56 other countries for one purpose: the furtherance of Islam. Because of Russia's efforts in being a member of the OIC they have been listed as an "observer" because they don't quite yet have the Muslim population that the OIC is looking for. However, they are well on their way there.

You don't hear of Hindu terrorism because it's pretty much limited to within India's borders. Russia isn't going to become Muslim any time soon, either. Islam is responsible for a lot of evil against Christians, but to give undue focus to one denomination of persecution while ignoring the others is just plain foolish.

Sorry about that, then; I understand where you're coming from now. After you're online for long enough, you just learn to feel some concern whenever you see the words "Muslim" or "Islam" in a thread title. "News-worthy" topics have a bad habit of falling into this, and Islam is one of them.

I can't honestly speak to what the Koran actually says, since I have never read it and internet sources are difficult to filter out based on level of bias and, quite frankly, level of crazy. From what I have seen, though, quotes on Jews and Christians are at least somewhat inconsistent. There are actually favorable comments regarding the two religious groups, but yeah. Again, it's inconsistent. I can see honestly how a person could draw either the "Jews and Christians are okay and on the path to God" or the "Jews and Christians must be slaughtered" view from the Koran.
