  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Sounds Fun

How long have you been taking pictures professionally?

Technically.. I never have professionally. The couple of weddings I've shot have been for friends or acquaintances that didn't have the budget for a photographer so I did them for just the cost of film. This is the same for the wedding I have coming up in 2 weeks.

It's really good practice though and I love doing it, especially for those that can't afford the thousands of dollar professionals. I'd love to start a business doing full shoots at a cheaper price specifically for couples without a big budget or no budget at all. Everyone deserves hundreds of good photos of their day, just not all can afford it. I want to change that for as many as I can. :)

Oh my gosh! I missed these questions, my bad!

Do I like my life?
That's a complicated question. I can't say I don't like it because hey, I'm still here and I have some really great things in my life, like my family and the privilages I have and a really good paying job. But I'm no where near where I want to be in life right now either. I haven't dated for about 7 years and I'm only 24. I can't afford to go to college yet and still have not been able to do much towards a career in photography.

Plans for the weekend? Going off this coming weekend I'm possibly second shooting (in other words not the main photographer) a wedding on Saturday and Sunday I'm spending with my mom, sister and niece at the Renaissance Festival. So I'm looking forward to the weekend :)

Oh nice list! Ok, here goes..
How many books have you read? Honestly, I have no idea. When I was younger I used to read constantly, probably close to 2 or 3 per week..
What is the last book that you read? I am currently reading a book called Dreamfall by Joan D. Vinge
What is your favorite book? Oh tough answer.. I'm not sure have a top favorite, though Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows is in close running to Hosting the Kazimeer by CE Sales
Who is your favorite character in a book? Hmm.. another toughie.. I'd have to say probably Sam from Lord of the Rings is closer to the top than other favorites.
What was the first book you can remember reading? Actually I don't remember. Sad to admit it but I can remember reading a lot of the Babysitters Club, Nancy Drew and the Hardy Boys in my elementary days.
What is the most times you have ever read a single book? What book was it? Haha, though I love reading and books, I can't seem to read a book more than once unless it's been several years between readings because I get bored knowing what comes through the next chapter and then stop paying attention to it lol.
Who is your favorite author? Honestly I'm not sure I have a favorite. Too many to choose from.
How many of his/her books have you read? Can't answer that really if I don't have a favorite.
What is your favorite book by that author? Again, really no answer for that one.
What do you use to keep your place in a book? At the moment it's a mini post-it note but usually it's a playing card I picked up off the table when I started reading.
Do you prefer hard cover or paperback? I have no idea why but I would buy hardcover over paperback any day.. unless it's resource books like photography books.
What is your favorite bookstore? Hehe, any one that sells books! Though I should say any one I can go into and not come out broke in..
Do you believe it is important for children to be interested in reading? Why or why not? Absolutely!! So much of things for kids now is on a computer or tv screen or animated in some way. Books allow you to travel into a world you can only find in your minds eye and follow the journeys of characters that can make you feel 110 emotions in a single paragraph! Reading too opens your own creativity and imagination to heights and places you may have never known possible.

What state are you from? What state do you live in now?

What do you think about black and white photography?

Do you develop all your own film and pics?

What state are you from? What state do you live in now? I am from northern Minnesota and am currently living in Minnesota, though I have also lived in Texas.

What do you think about black and white photography? I love a good black and white. You can change the entire feeling and outlook of a photograph by removing the color. Would we look the same at Ansel Adams if he shot in color? Doubtful. He would have just been another landscape photographer. There's a drama in black and white that can't be achieved in colors.

Do you develop all your own film and pics? Honestly.. I hate developing lol. I absolutely love shooting film but was never at all interested in developing and still find it a rather large turn off to some seminars and classes if they include the developing/darkroom process. On the computer though, I do enjoy processing digitals.

I really like Black and white photography. I agree that it totally changes the feel of the picture.

I like digital cameras, but I must admit I really enjoy manuals and developing my own film/pics. Although I think digitals are better on the go and at most events.

What do you like best/least about Minnesota?

I'm not sure I'd say they're better per say. Definately more convenient as you're not changing film constantly and that stuff. As far as at events, I honestly think that all comes right down to the equipment itself. There are still things in color and brilliance you can achieve directly in film where in digital, you might find you have to work with it a bit more to find that "awe" state. In working with my two cameras, I'm finding myself frequently disappointed with colors that look washed out and dull over the great, clean colors I get with my film. I'm still learning though hehe, and always will be.

Hmm.. What I like the most is the variety. We have all 4 seasons in full, right now we're in the perfect fall. And I love the landscapes. North there's the north shore along Lake Superior with the rock shores and scattered state parks with waterfalls, south there are plains and all through the middle there's tons of nature areas and lakes and really anything. What I don't like sometimes is the unpredictability about the weather lol. Literally we have gone through 24 hour periods where the temperature has changed by about 80 degrees from one day to the next. It can get quite confusing and hard to plan anything lol. And the winter usually is a bit longer than it should be. Otherwise I love it here.
