  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

1. When debating another member do not attack that member's character in any way, address only the content of a post and not the member personally.
Don't accuse another member of lying or of being ignorant, illogical or unintelligent.
2. Watch your posting style. When you see that a normal dialogue starts getting heated, avoid using direct words like "you". Refer to a post and not poster - say "this post", not "you are".
3. NO Goading. Not even a mocking or a taunting smiley in the direction of other.
4. NO off-topic - if you do not have a response do not post.
5. Only a person the post is addressed to can report the other. Make certain the violation of the above points(1-4) is clear.
6. During the EP moderators will not report any posts in Soteriology.
7. The Moderators may continue using their mod tools, such as closing threads, mod hats, and such.

When a poster from one group reports the other
concerning the above violations during the Emergency Protocol the moderators will be told to issue automatic 1 week ban, which they can appeal in MSC.

(If there is a new poster who clearly does not know the dynamics, s/he will definitely get grace when appealing. Maybe you could also help him/her by explaining what is going on).

Thanks,
In Christ,
Edial
