There are a few Anglophones on here. The french posters are quite nice to me (as far as I can tell lol, I am just a french student, and only have a VERY basic concept of the discussions that go on here.

Our forum is very quiet nowadays. I try to come regularly, but sadly there is so few discussions that i don't have much to answers.

There are several threads with people wanting to chat, so just go on, ask questions.

And if you want me to answer in french, just tell me (it would only be easier for me ;)).

Has Christianity died in France? :(

No it's not dead. I even think that evangelical churches are growing (yet slowly). But the generally approved religion here is humanism. Even a lot of christians are caught by it.

Anyway we are only a few french here. And we don't always have much time to spend on CF :)

Christian churches "died" a long time ago in my department. I used to go to the worship beforehand in some cities around but they closed a few years ago...
Most of the christians went back to their country (Réunion...still belong to France but a million miles away :))
As for Christian people, I seldom meet nowadays. The nearest church is 150 km from my home...A pity isn't it?

Where do you live? I'm amazed i wouldn't have thought that. Maybe that's because i live near Paris, in a town of about 80,000. But still there's not only one church i could go to, if i hadn't the one i have near. The are 2 or 3 other churches (or Brothers Assemby) in my town, and there's a lot of churches in and near Paris.

I think country is spiritually poorer than cities...

www.eglises.org gives you a list of evangelical churches in France.

Yeah, there are some french people who convert to islam, but i dare say that there are more muslims converting to Christ in Muslim countries.
And another reason is that there has been a lot of immigration in the last decades from our former colonies in North Africa. And they often have more children than other religions in France.

sadly, it is far easier to have a mosque built than an evangelical church nowadays. Some would even get help from authorities... i can't understand that.

I would very much like to go on a mission's trip to France. I want to go there anyway, and love the French langauge. Hmm, maybe that's the purpose for my loving the language so much.....

You're most welcome... only you'll have to learn that it's not always so easy to put up with us... we have our habits, our customs, our mentality... we're not americans... ;)

I say that because a lot of american missionnaries come here with a lot of good will, but often they're not able do adapt. They just can't think they're not dealing with americans, but with frenchmen... we're different, that's all ;)

Anyway, i know a lot of american pastors who are doing very well with their flock and that's a blessing to have them .
