Past tense. Paul is referring to the sins from which Jesus saved him.

Martin Luther 1521 said:If you are a preacher of mercy, do not preach an imaginary but the true mercy. If the mercy is true, you must therefore bear the true, not an imaginary sin. God does not save those who are only maginary sinners. Be a sinner, and let your sins be strong, but let your trust in Christ be stronger, and rejoice in Christ who is the victor over sin, death, and the world. We will commit sins while we are here, for this life is not a place where justice resides. We, however, says Peter (2. Peter 3:13) are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth where justice will reign. It suffices that through God's glory we have recognized the Lamb who takes away the sin of the world. No sin can separate us from Him, even if we were to kill or commit adultery thousands of times each day. Do you think such an exalted Lamb paid merely a small price with a meager sacrifice for our sins? Pray hard for you are quite a sinner.

The First Epistle of Paul the Apostle to Timothy, Chapter 1, Verse 15Present. Tense.
This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief.
The ludicrous notion that Christians don't sin leaves the world entirely empty of Christians.
What does the bible say about lesbians? Transexuals? Intersexuals/hermaphrodites?PastorJim said:All sin causes us to be deserving of Hell. Homosexuality (and the Bible makes no distinction between homosexuality and bisexuality) is no exception.

groundhog said:Again, not true. Read the way the passage is worded. 1 Timothy 1:15 states [bold highlights mine]:
"The saying is sure and worthy of full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. And I am the foremost of sinners;" - Revised Standard Version
"This [is] a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners; of whom I am chief." - King James version
"It is a trustworthy statement, deserving full acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, among whom I am foremost {of all.}" - New American Standard version
"This saying is trustworthy and deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners. Of these I am the foremost. " - New American Bible (the primary Catholic version)
How would you address Paul's account of himself in Romans 7:14-24?
Perhaps it's a matter of interpretation, but we all know how there are thousands of different interpretations in Protestant Christianity.

I'm always surprised at the people who believe gays will go to Hell. Doesn't the Bible preach that anyone who believes goes to Heaven? Amazing how the tune changes when the sinner is gay.
I would recomend:
United Church of Christ
Episcopalians
ECLA (Luthern)
Presbyterian (PCUSA)
United Methodist Church
Quakers (Religious Society of Friends)
While all but the UCC and the Quakers have official positions against gay marriage, imo, those denominations have been very welcoming of homosexuals. I don't believe the UCC even recognizes homosexuality as a sin and I think the Presbyterians are headed fast that way.

Of course they are when using the english word, but does the original greek use the english word "homosexual"? In another thread, there was argument about whether the greek word actually included women or not.Blackguard_ said:uhhh, Lesbians are homosexuals. Besides, Romans 1:20-something.
No. But thats nothing you couldn't point out for homosexual men.Of course they are when using the english word, but does the original greek use the english word "homosexual"?

Becuase I was just pointing out lesbians are homosexuals.I notice that you dropped the transsexuals and hermaphrodites.
Transexuals are the sex they are born with. Its purely cosmetic surgery. If a male got his "package" chopped off but made no attempt to fashion a vagina out of the mess, what sex would he be?What is the verdict on them?
maybe, but there is a verse about women like that. Romans 1:20 something.Somehow I don't think the "lie with a man" verses apply.
Actually, I don't think anyone ever does that. If they "chop", they also "fashion". It's called Sex Reassignment Surgery. It's done all at once, because the penile tissue becomes the vagina.Blackguard_ said:Transexuals are the sex they are born with. Its purely cosmetic surgery. Now there's a just god for ya. Whose fault was it that they were born that way? I assume they can't ever get married either, due to the one man one woman rhetoric.Hermophradites,-Don't know. I would guess they are supposed to be celibate, since being with a man or woman would violate the bible their being man and woman.
