Son's teeth

Okay. Not good. Took my son to the dentist for a cleaning. he hadn't had one for about a year. His old dentist was pretty incompetent-he once cleaned my teeth and a week later I went elsewhere for something and there was a large cavity he did not tell me about).

Seems he has an overbite which is causing some occlusion. He also has acid reflux, had it for a while. We never had it til we moved to my fathers house and then we both got it at the same time.
Well, that has eroded a lot of enamel and even some dentin off his teeth. I must make an appointment with hi dr. for some pills for the reflux.

besides that, 2 cavities. he doesn't do pain well. A shot in the arm makes him scream and cry. At his age, I had at least 11 cavitites and probably had about 50 fillings in my life, not to mention at least 20 teeth pulled in my life, so i am so used to it.

Dear Lord , Please be with this young man as he goes to the dentist. Help this new dentist to be more sensitive to the needs of this boy, and to provide good care for him.I also lift his mother up to you . May she be comforted by your loving touch. In Jesus name

Ask this dentist if he can numb the area first before giving a shot. My dentist uses a cotton swab with novacain(sp) to numb the spot he plans to inject. God bless you and your boy!

He is sure he wants gas. It isn't covered my medical coverage, but I may beg my father for the money. In all my 100 times at dentists, they would never give it to me, even though it once took 1 hour to fill a cavity of mine from after I became numb to finish!

Has he gone to get them fixed yet? If so how did it go?

You can't fix the acid damage. He is getting them cleaned next week. They gave us a prescription for a strong flouride toothpaste ofr use before bed, but it wasn't covered by my medical and it was $15.
All they are going to do is fill 2 cavitites and his dr. (next week) will have to give him something for the reflux.

Father in Heaven you are our Healer and only by you can we be healed. Please allow this young one to have your healing hand on him as he fights with the acid reflux. It is a very painful thing to have especially when you are young. Please place your hand on him and remove this from his young body. In the name of Jesus Christ AMEN.

Just a thought - my husband has the same thing and we have to have our bed elevated at the head so that it doesn't happen as often. We have wood planks under the bed frame legs. We tried to just elevate the mattress but it didn't help until we elevated the entire head of the bed.
