Dear saints, trust that the Lord had been preserving and nurturing you :). This is my second (and final…LOL) post this Easter season and I promise to keep it short :). Have you ever found yourself unable to make headway spiritually and stuck in what many refer to as a spiritual mid-life crisis? You’re saved and sanctified but just don’t seem to feel punch-drunk on the Holy Spirit like you used to. Maybe you don’t feel the thrill and excitement of your salvation and first-love for the Lord (Psalm 51:12; Revelation 2:4). Do we need a spiritual CPR? The clue to that may lie in the nature of our relationship with the Lord Jesus Himself.

Let’s look at John 1:26-27 and John 3:30. These scriptures narrate the testimony that John the Baptist, who was also conceived by the Holy Spirit (Luke 1:15), gave the Pharisees when asked about his ministry. John realized that he was only sent to herald the supremacy of Christ, i.e., the “Sonrise” (John 1:23). He knew that his own spirituality was nothing compared to the “Sonrise” and the resurrection power of the coming Messiah in his own life (Luke 3:16-17). The one unmistakable hallmark of a saint baptized in the Holy Spirit is the supremacy and ascendancy of the Son of God (Colossians 1:15-23), i.e., a “Sonrise” every day. The natural life and individuality of the saint will slowly fade and will be replaced by an ever radiant glow of the risen Christ (2 Corinthians 3:18). Our natural goodness will start making way to the fruit of the Holy Spirit emanating from within (Galatians 5:22-23) and the world will notice that we have been with Jesus (Acts 4:13).

The life of the Lord Jesus is the textbook example for a sanctified life. Although He was God by nature (Philippians 2:6-8), He submitted Himself to the Heavenly Father’s will (Luke 24:7). This is another very distinctive attribute of a saint’s life, which is the complete Lordship and dominance of the Holy Spirit (Romans 6:22; 8:6). Every aspect of a saint’s life, be it eating or drinking, bears an uncanny resemblance to the risen Christ’s life (1 Corinthians 10:31). One of the reasons why that resurrection power isn’t flowing like bolts of lightning through our fingertips could be that there is some hidden agenda that hasn’t been fully turned over to the Lord. We’re all familiar with Achan’s sin in Joshua 7-8 and how Israel was routed until that which was consecrated to the Lord was sacrificed. If we’re holding onto something that belongs to the Lord then we’re blocking the flow of His power and life through us (John 7:38).

Are we knights bowing before the risen Christ (Acts 9:5) and crusading to establish His supremacy (Philippians 2:10-11)? Do we return all glory to the One to Whom it truly belongs (Luke 18:19)? Do we consider ourselves to be unworthy servants blessed to serve a worthy Master (Luke 17:10)? Do we gladly bear the pain and carry our cross (Matthew 16:24) so that the supernatural, hell busting (Luke 10:18-19) power of the Holy Spirit is transforming us from within (2 Corinthians 4:16)? Is the “Sonrise” enabling us to hear the angels calling our names (Matthew 24:31)? This Easter Sunday as the sun rises will we allow the Son to rise in and dominate our hearts? I pray that we do. Amen :).

Saints, my intention in this writing was only to illustrate some concepts and not incriminate anybody in anyway. I apologize if some or all of this content offended you in anyway, as my intention was quite the opposite

Dear friends, I’m quite certain that all of you are sanctified, Holy Ghost baptized saints. Should there be any among you that don’t know the Lord yet, I pray that the Lord of the Universe will set you free from sin and disobedience into His glorious light and freedom. Amen.

PS: Thanks for taking the time to read my scribble saints. If you find a lot of similarities between this writing and those of Rev. Oswald Chambers, that’s because the late Rev. Chambers is my mentor. “I tell you the truth, today you will be with Me in paradise (Luke 23:43)”. Amen.
