Here Comes the Sun--The Beatles

My dad used to play that song from an old Beatles record to get me to fall asleep when I was a little girl. I still absolutely love that song!

God Bless the Broken Road--Rascal Flatts

Lots of tears and a broken heart comes to mind...I'll find the man I am to fall in love with one of these days...I hope...

Puff Daddy-- I'll be missing you

Yeah, that song takes me back to Sting and the Police's "I'll be Watching You." :p

It's hard for me to come up with a song that "takes me back" because I grew up listening the Oldies station.

It's hard for me to come up with a song that "takes me back" because I grew up listening the Oldies station.

I also grew up listening to the oldies, but when I got my car and was working part-time at Dunkin Donuts the radio was tuned to light rock alot. I'll Be Missing You is a song that played quite often then and that one takes me back. I'm terrible with song names, but every now and then I'll hear one and it'll bring back memories of learning to drive or I'll even be able to smell the donuts and coffee again!

Great song. I think it's one of their best yet.

For me, an instrumental song called "Colors/Dance" by George Winston takes me back to a vacation to Oregon many years ago. Beautiful song.

ELO's "Fire on High" takes me back to when I was taking swimming lessons.

Lone Star's "Smile" takes me back to the one time I've had a "broken heart," but I still love the song.

I'm a child of the 80s so here's mine...

Manic Monday - The Bangles (this takes me back to 5th grade and the importance of wearing those silly plastic bracelets just like they did ^_^ )
The Show - Doug E Fresh (the song that inspired me to breakdance - and break a few bones too :sorry: )
Controversy - Prince (This was my older sister's LP and I remembe sneaking to listen to it. My sis was so mad when I scratched it that she told on me. LOL)
New Edition - Candy Girl and everything else they had.....(They were my elementary and junior high crushes. They were playing the first time I got asked out on a date in 6th grade. Which never happened because (a)I couldn't date then and (b) my brothers beat him up for asking me out. LOL)
Good times though...

"Soul to Squeeze" by the Red Hot Chili Peppers

This was and continues to be one of my favorite songs of all time. When I was younger and my life was spinning out of control, this song was a constant reminder that I wanted to change.

"Moonlight Sonata" by Beethoven

Another one my favorites, it used to be a song that was synonymous with suicidal feelings during the darker periods of my life. Today, it levels me off and keeps me going dead center. It helps me think when I have tough decisions to make.

"Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana & "Run Around" by Blues Traveler

The album, "Nevermind", was the first compact disc that I ever owned. My Dad bought it for my birthday along with a boom-box just before we went on a Father-Son trip to Virginia. He bought the album "Four", by Blues Traveler and we listened to those two albums over and over again. It was one of few and the greatest memory of have of my Father from childhood. Everything, for one moment, was perfect and nothing else mattered.

"Outside" by Staind

When this song first came out, a childhood friend of mine shot himself in the chest and died. He had been struggling with drug and alcohol addiction. When his longtime girlfriend left him, it was the last straw. Two hundred people attended his funeral. That song was on every radio station at the time.

Metallica - Enter Sandman.

Guns'N'Roses - Paradise City

Takes me back to the early 90's and late 80's summer days when all I cared about was playing baseball in the backyard and riding my bike to the grocery store for Clearly Canadian(cherry) and Cow Tails(candy)

I miss those days. Luckily my maturity level hasn't changed much:p
