  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Do you enjoy all the new remakes of old songs?
OR do you perfer the orginals?
My older sisters perfer the old versions, I usually end up liking both versions. What about you

some remakes are good, some are not ... generally i think i would go for the remakes, because most of the music genre I would choose would be 90s or later, so some of the songs that were written in the 80s or earlier do not appeal to me as much, but hearing the same words in a modern style I do enjoy

I think there can be benefits and drawbacks to both.

A remake of an old song can give it a deeper, fuller sound than the original was recorded in. And sometimes they turn out very good. However, I think if an artist is going to record a remake, they have to give it their own flare and not make it sound like the original. Marilyn Manson has done a fantastic job with a lot of the remakes he has done as an example from the top of my head.

However, most remakes I hear recorded are usually trash that we all wish were unmade.

Concerts are a different animal. Hearing a beloved legendary song at a concert can get a crowd pumping like crazy.

And no one should record remakes of Queen songs. No one could pull off Mercury's talent... :(

It depends on who covered the song. Some of the covers I like:

Killswitch Engage does Dio: Holy Diver
Marilyn Manson does Depeche Mode: Personal Jesus
Marilyn Manson does Eurythmics: Sweet Dreams
Linkin Park does Depeche Mode: Enjoy the Silence
Green Day does The Beatles: Working Class Hero
Limp Bizkit does The Who: Behind Blue Eyes
Eminem samples Aerosmith: Dream On
Korn does Pink Floyd: Another Brick in the Wall
Korn does Cameo: Word Up!
Five Thirteen does Justin Timberlake: Sexy Back*

*The only rendition of the song I've heard with a violin.
