Why do humans wear clothing?

Is there any reason to(besides protecting ourselves from the sun)?

If all humans decide to stop wear clothing, we can express our common image with one another. We can look at eachother and observe that we are all, in fact, the same.

and people are only ashamed because their parents teach them to be, particularly in the US and UK. In mainland Europe, naked saunas, beaches and so on are very common. the people in there aren't ashamed at all.

We were also the only species - Hermit Crabs and Caddies Flies notwithstanding - that wore clothes when that story was written. It is probably amongst the reasons why that story was written.

Nah, I dont blame the parents, I blame society.

But if you look at the two big local high streets near me on any given Friday night (Sutton and Croydon, for those who know Sahf London) youll see a fairly high number of young English people are trying their hardest to leave clothing behind.

Given that we apparently just need sufficient alcohol in the bloodstream to tolerate the climate and given the number of drunken conceptions this leads to, we could see positive selection for getting naked in freezing temperatures take effect very soon.
(hmm, anyone know if any specific genetic analysis of Scousers has been carried out? Theyve probably been capable of metabolising their own blood alcohol/anti-freeze for generations and just not told the rest of us)
