He lives a life to serve Mankind. The lost, it is he seeks to find.
Not to fulfil their earthly needs, it’s not the body that he feeds-
This service, more vital to a life, than words to calm an earthly strife.

Theologian, teacher, mentor, friend, the message that he strives to send,
Is not of status, self or sin, not what we can do to win.
Instead he points us to the One, our Lord, our Saviour, God’s only Son.

God’s grace he puts before our eyes, on Word and Sacrament relies,
The Holy Spirit’s work to show, that faith and love in us may grow.
So we in turn will do our part, to serve mankind with a loving heart.

By sin at times, we are lured, to fight against what we have heard.
No other answer can he give, no other life can he live.
It’s not a path he chose to trod, the choice you see, was made by God.
