  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Ok, I know this is not spiritual at all, nor does it necessarily pertain to singles...but I'm looking for some answers & can't seem to find any.

Does anybody here kneeboard (towstyle)? I'm just learning and I have a few questions. I posted them in the outdoor forum, but nobody has answered, so I thought I'd just paste that post in a couple other areas and see if maybe I could find someone else who does this.

I'm looking for someone who is pretty good on the kneeboard and who might be able to help me. I've finally figured mine out and have been out twice on it and unfortunately both excursions have ended in pain! 3 weeks ago wasn't so bad...I was still learning how to handle the nasty wakes caused by other boats and ended up somersaulting off the front 3 times...the third time my pinkie must have contacted the board because it's been swollen and sore ever since then. Last night was the worse...I was doing better with the wakes and learned that if I lean back I could handle them better but it never failed that after about the third or fourth wake in a row I'd lose it and wipe out...the last couple times I wiped out and went off the front of the board and the last time I came up out of the water right in front of the board and it ran into my jaw...which is now swollen and painful...my elbow must have made contact at some point as well because it's swollen also.

Despite all this I'm still not done with that darn board, but I was hoping to talk to someone who has some experience and might be able to give me some pointers. I'm wondering how tight does the strap need to be...right now it's loose enough that I can pull it up over my legs after I've got set, it doesn't bounce around, but do I need to make it tighter...it's loose enough that I can rise up on my knees a slight bit. (Make sense?) Second question is how in the world do you ride out mutiple rough wakes from the other boats? Am I better off behind my boat or off to the side? If I'm better off to the side and the wakes are coming from the right do I want to be on the right or left side of my boat? Also, when I'm going airborne just due to the intensity of the wakes do I want the rope handle chest level or down near my stomach? Normally my arms are near a 90 degree angle and the handle is about chest level, maybe a tad bit lower. The lake is a decent sized lake but it can be quite busy at times and it's just impossible to avoid all those wakes and I'd hate to find out I just can't kneeboard during those times!
