Thank you all... I love that pic Bluebell.

Football season has begun, it's my son's senior year. He rocks at football, and I love to watch him play. FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS baby!! :clap:

But, tomorrow night will be bitter sweet, our first home game, Dad won't be here. I feel confused, and at a loss as to what to do. :scratch: I'm so still in the mode of Dad being involved in all we do. Like I filled out the papers for my son's diploma for graduation this year. It was another moment of "what is going on here?"

It hit home yesterday... as to how put out I am about all of this... :swoon: There were three snakes in my pool, I had to remove.

I just hope those who have said they will attend the Varsity football games with me really do. So, I have someone to talk to, and I don't sit there sticking out like a "sore thumb"... You can't imagine how much someone is part of all you do, until you face doing the normal daily things alone. :sigh:

Things I do all the time, things I thought were just me. Things I never even knew, involved another human being, just aren't the same. :cry:

Psalm 33 1 Sing joyfully to the LORD, you righteous;
it is fitting for the upright to praise him.
2 Praise the LORD with the harp;
make music to him on the ten-stringed lyre.
3 Sing to him a new song;
play skillfully, and shout for joy.
4 For the word of the LORD is right and true;
he is faithful in all he does.
5 The LORD loves righteousness and justice;
the earth is full of his unfailing love.
6 By the word of the LORD were the heavens made,
their starry host by the breath of his mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea into jars [a] ;
he puts the deep into storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD;
let all the people of the world revere him.
9 For he spoke, and it came to be;
he commanded, and it stood firm.
10 The LORD foils the plans of the nations;
he thwarts the purposes of the peoples.
11 But the plans of the LORD stand firm forever,
the purposes of his heart through all generations.
12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD,
the people he chose for his inheritance.
13 From heaven the LORD looks down
and sees all mankind;
14 from his dwelling place he watches
all who live on earth-
15 he who forms the hearts of all,
who considers everything they do.
16 No king is saved by the size of his army;
no warrior escapes by his great strength.
17 A horse is a vain hope for deliverance;
despite all its great strength it cannot save.
18 But the eyes of the LORD are on those who fear him,
on those whose hope is in his unfailing love,
19 to deliver them from death
and keep them alive in famine.
20 We wait in hope for the LORD;
he is our help and our shield.
21 In him our hearts rejoice,
for we trust in his holy name.
22 May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD,
even as we put our hope in you.

Well, I cannot believe that Football blew by and my son's senior year is almost half over too. I went to those games... I did not miss one. I yelled and cheered and screamed his name with all my heart! :clap:

I am so proud of him. He played with all of his heart, and lead his team (Captain) to bbe 7 & 0, before they lost the first time. The seasoned finished with 7 & 3. My son won Defensive player of the week time and time again.

His dad even flew in to watch 2 of his games, those weekends were here and gone before I could blink. It seemed the moment I picked him up from the airport, the time was ticking till he had to leave again. :(

Every single friday night I cried as I stood on the field for the tunnel as we sang the national anthem. My son was nominated for Homecoming King, and I cried as I escorted him down the field.

The last night, the last game, I just openly wept with him. :groupray:

At night... I toss the first 10 minutes in the bed, since my husband is not there. Then, I do alright. :sleep:

I still don't like this. It's still hard to think that it will be 2 years for us. He hates it too... even though he loves being in the NAVY... He'd rather be here.

Now, we move on to the Holidays, I'll decorate this huge house 18 trees, tons of lights, garlands and wreaths... displays and villages to brighten the eyes of all the little ones who will come here.

Thank you for all the prayers and support, please continue to remember our family this holiday season... Our son is a Marine, and He leaves for Iraq in January. He will get to come home for Christmas before they leave. Christmas will be bittersweet... and Dad will be home too. But, once again, they will leave, and I will need strength. :groupray:

The holidays are an amazing time of year! I'm so glad your husband and son will be home for the holidays!

This is our first christmas without our oldest home. She's a Marine currently deployed in Iraq.

We can lean on each other through their deployments.

You know, my step son is in Baghdad, right now,and this was a much harder deployment for me than the last one! The very first one was in the beginning, and he was in the Navy...he was on the Iwo Jima.
He is in the Army, now, his choice, and in Baghdad...left about a month ago. I didn't cry, in front of him, but believe me, I did later! He calls, and emails when he can......

Knowing we are all together in this, sons, husbands, brothers, sisters, daughters...all gone to fight for us. All gone so we don't have to live with the worry of tanks going down our road, or bombs going off as we eat lunch.

We have to keep praying for our service men. And for each other!

My husband is in techschool right now; we only got to see eachother for a couple days 2 months ago, and before that it had been 2 months since we'd seen eachother. That does not compare to what you are going through however. I know how hard it can be.

*If He brings you to it, He will bring you through it*

I'm glad that you're doing better. Remember that we are always here for you. When my husband deploys I can take strength in the fact that you did it; so can I.

I belong to another forum for military wives; perhaps you'd be interested. It's a wonderful place full of support from women that know EXACTLY how you're feeling. They've been there. It's also very active 24/7; there is always a discussion of some kind. And it's all women, and that is helpful sometimes. If you like I can give you the link; I don't know what the rules are for posting links to other forums.

Well, as I type this... I am sitting here looking at 5 different pictures of my husband on the wall, each one says something different to me...

The one in the yard in his uniform, with his sunglasses on... This one makes my knees weak, :swoon: he is my lover.

The next one, he is wearing his uniform whites with his hat on, this one the smile says, I'm proud to be a Navy Officer... And I am proud of him too. :clap:

The one where he is saluting the flag on Memorial day before giving the speech he and I wrote to the Veterans of Foreign Wars ceremony... this one says... respect. I do respect his sacrifice and giving for the greater good. He is my hero in this one. :thumbsup:

The one where he is looking at the Vets who are glad to see him, and he is so solemn because they humble him... him who is one of them. A humble man, my husband. This one makes me just a little bit small... but my heart is big.:blush:

And the one in his uniform (Khakis) they took for his record recently... all standing at attention and smiling.. This is what he is there for... This one says... I've done this, it's all been worth it. It says... He'd do it again. :eek:
