This is the spiritual Adam and Eve in my opinion. Genesis 2 is the act of making mankind spiritual in the image of God.
I was talking about a literal reading of Genesis. But I would go as far as to say that there is as much evidence for a 6-day creation 6,000 years ago as there is for what you say above. However, the evidence against what you say is little and the same cannot be said about YEC.
It is a literal reading in so much that Genesis 1 is the description of the physical world and Genesis 2 for the spiritual.
There is nothing in the Bible that states the creation was 6,000 years ago.
And there is plenty of evidence against the physical description of creation in Genesis 1.
Yes, there is. You can daisy chain all of the generations from Adam to Jesus.
That is not true.
Again, there is nothing that says how long creation took.
That is absolutely true. The order in which things are created in Genesis 1 does not correspond to the order in which they appear in the fossil record. Even the day, night and plants were created before the sun in Genesis 1.
Were you there? I mean really all we can do is look back and try to figure out how things went down.
Genesis 1 does. It says 6 days, do you want me to paste it here?
I didn't claim it didn't. We don't know how much time was in each day do we?

I didn't claim it didn't. We don't know how much time was in each day do we?
I wasn't alive during WWII, I guess the holocaust didn't happen then. So yeah, maybe "day", "night" and plants appeared before the sun.
We do. 6,000 years ago days were 24 hours, and the variation in length of days even going back billions of years is not more than a few hours at the most.

Were you there?
Yes, I was there.
How do you know I wasn't? Where you there?
No, he's just claiming to have been there. Since you weren't there, how can you prove him wrong?
He is the one making extraordinary claims, it is up to him to prove to me that he was there.
But if he wasn't there, does that mean that what happened didn't happen?
If someone didn't witness something with their own eyes, does that mean that the thing didn't happen?
