what is the p on my camera...it's a setting like the shutter speed. Also, what does the a, and c mean?


In these settings, there is an f with numbers after it that looks like this f 2.0 and it goes up to 8.0? WHat's this for?

The F numbers are your Apeture settings, the smaller the number, the bigger the Apeture. The Apeture is how much light is let into your camera, so a small number means lots of light while a big one means only a little bit of light.

ISO is how sensitive your camera is to light, the higher the ISO the more sensitive it is to light.

AF is Auto-Focus is means your camera will doing the focusing for you.

I don't know for sure, but P is probably Program Mode, in which the camera selects a combination of shutter speed and aperture (and possibly ISO) for the picture. A would be Aperture Mode, in which you pick the aperture (F number) and the camera picks a shutter speed to get the exposure right, and C would be Custom Mode, which exists on your camera and which does something or other that I don' tknow.
