1 Corinthians 6:10
Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Galatians 5:21
21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Ephesians 5:5
For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

How this can be matched with faith alone. Is it because all may d this, but those who are saved through Christ, willbe forgiven?

Please, help me.

These represent ongoing behavior. A way of life. This is not referring to our every day stumblings. If you look at the descriptions, you can see that this describes the person, not simply behavior. For example: Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

A thief steals for a living, it is a way of life that continues and even thrives on sin. Covetous is not just feeling envy occasionaly, it is constantly living in a state of jealousy for another man's possessions or status. Drunkards are not the man who has an occasional beer or who even has had too much too drink. A drunkard is a man who always seeks after drink at the cost of his health, job, family, etc. The above references describe the heart of the man, what is important to him, what he puts before God. The indwelling of the Holy Spirit will not allow us to continue in these behaviors. We sin, we feel convicted. We repent, we seek the strength to avoid the sin in the future. We stumble again and we are convicted and repent and so on. We do not revel in it, we are ashamed of it. I believe the verses you have pointed out speak more of the fruit of the saved vs the fruit of the unsaved, not as an alert to actions that doom us. A man who bears these fruits is not Elect therefore, he shall not inherit the Kingdom.

Ephesians 5 Walk in Love

5:1Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. 2 And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

3 But sexual immorality and all impurity or covetousness must not even be named among you, as is proper among saints. 4 Let there be no filthiness nor foolish talk nor crude joking, which are out of place, but instead let there be thanksgiving. 5 For you may be sure of this, that everyone who is sexually immoral or impure, or who is covetous (that is, an idolater), has no inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and God. 6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7 Therefore do not associate with them; 8 for at one time you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light 9 (for the fruit of light is found in all that is good and right and true), 10 and try to discern what is pleasing to the Lord. 11 Take no part in the unfruitful works of darkness, but instead expose them. 12 For it is shameful even to speak of the things that they do in secret. 13 But when anything is exposed by the light, it becomes visible, 14 for anything that becomes visible is light. Therefore it says,

“Awake, O sleeper,
and arise from the dead,
and Christ will shine on you.”

15 Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 18 And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit, 19 addressing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody to the Lord with all your heart, 20 giving thanks always and for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, 21 submitting to one another out of reverence for Christ.

Consider that we are hidden in Christ. Our sins have been forgiven us. When we stand at the throne in Judgment we will be clothed with the righteousness of Christ .

God has promised that He will see our sins no more.

Any holiness or righteousness is the work of God in us, (sanctification ) that makes sin our hated enemy . We are a work in progress . We are saved by Grace not legalism.

Remember. Christ's atonement covers all our sins, past, present, and future. This is not a license to sin but should bring us to our knees in reverence of God's master plan and the power of Christ's atonement.

Read Romans 7. Paul also struggled with sin.
Individual sins are one thing. An unrepentant sinful lifestyle is quite another.

Well, I am having a little trouble with this. Please, if you are so kind, give me a bible verse that says my future sins are covered, as you say.

Hebrews 9:28 ........... so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him.

Heb 10:14 .............because by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

Actually,a thorough reading of Hebrews may resolve your question more thoroughly than i can, except to say that if Christ hadn't dealt with his childrens future sins then they are damned because he "Died once for all";)

I would agree with this. The main theme of Hebrews centers around this.

Yes, he was the high priest who sacrificed for the past sins of man. In the old testament, priests did that as well. Christ only had to die once because he was the perfect sacfirice. The OT priests atoned for the pasts sins, as did Christ. Christ saves us from sin. If and not when we sin, we have an advocate with the Father.

In the Bible, atonement is never presented as a covering for future sins. I think the atonement covers only our sins past. Romans 3:25 and 1 Peter 1:9 tells us this. 1 John 1:9 says that future sin requires confession of any failures in order for there to be any continued forgiveness and cleansing...If Christ has already paid all our future sins on the cross, we would not need Him as our present Advocate before the Judge, as 1 John 2:1 says.

God Bless,
Rachel
